NRT is doing my head in

Ex Roller, The question you ask, only you can truly answer. Are you ready? If you feel you are capable of doing this with out the NRT, then great, we are all here for you. If you choose to stick with using the NRT for the time being - great as well, either way it is your decision. Take Care, Melanie _______________ The SSC Support Team

Hey Up!! rant as much as you like it will probably help you. I would recommend joining a gym, I did and I try to go nearly every day at present as it kills about 2 hours all in all, and you dont think of craves most of the time. You don't have to exercise every time, some days I just go for the sauna, jacuzzi etc. It has really helped me in this early stage of my quit. Good luck chuck! Hey Ex Roller ! Sorry that you are feeling down. I would wait until you are feeling a little more up and then yes.. I would get rid of the inhaler. You will get over the physical in a few days and you sound really ready to not have any smoke anything around you. Ex roller.. it really does something great for your psychie to be 100% away from nicotine and cigarettes. During your NRT withdrawal.. take it easy and know it will pass and you will be in a great place then.. 40 days.. you can do anything man !! Hang Tuff ! Ex-roller, I suggest stocking up on the coffee fix.. (tea is fine but, as we ALL know Coffee is DIVINE). You know that gym is sounding good to me too ! I am seeing it now, casually heading off to the HEALTH CLUB in my new workout suit. I am admired by all and I am feeling the part too. I am meeting new friends there (non-smokers) and we are planning great weekends together on THEIR boats and at THEIR summer homes. It is a great idea.. adding new things to your routine helps break the old routines.. Hang in there.. you are entitled to one bad day from time to time.. look at Cheney (now that's embarassing). Hi all. I'm not on the NRT (I had the cold laser treatment and it took most of the craves,) and usually haven't had too much of a problem. But today for some reason the craves are kicking in big time. I guess I just needed to vent to someone about whats happening. I'm thinking about going back to bed and taking a nap, see if I can "sleep thru them", so to speak. Just don't feel much like doing anything in particular. I have a load of laundry washing, but not crazy about putting it in the dryer even. Just so blaaaaaaaaah, and a little jumpy. Any suggestions? Thanks Josie, I think I'll read some of the book I've been reading at bedtime. It usually puts me to sleep. So that way I'll kill 2 birds, so to speak, with one stone. I can read and end up with a nap at the same time. Thanks for the suggestions. Right now I can use all I can get! Yeah, I'd wait until feeling better. I had that decision to make, too. I waited for a good day and I'm glad I did. Why make it harder on yourself? stay close Grateful non-smoker, gpw My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/14/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 31 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 479 Amount Saved: $124 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 23 Mins: 0 Seconds: 56

Ex Roller, I have been tired too. I am on the patch 14mg. You just feel like you don't want to do much. I can't wait to step down to the next level of the patch, but I am going to follow the directions. Today is the first day in a while that I have felt much better then I have. I have faith that we are going to feel just fine in the long run. It is a big adjustment we are going through and I think we just have to listen to our bodies and go with it and not worry about it too much. In the end we will be just fine. Hey ex-roller. Thanks for the helping hand there fellow quitter. As for my story with the nrt? W ell... I thought pretty much as you did and I think the answer rests with.... How strong do you feel with your quit??? I mean do u truly see yourself as a non smoker? If theres days when the temptation is so strong that u question your quit then I don't think u r ready. I on the other hand could not gain access to the step 3 patches, so a day after I had stepped down from step two, I gave them up. I actually am finding myself feeling worse now then the first three days I stepped down ,so obviously, I am reacting the strogest to the mental part of my quit. Only u can know what part of your quit that u r at. GOOD LUCK. FAKE IT TIL U MAKE IT. ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 42 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,059 Amount Saved: $472.5 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 17 Mins: 37 Seconds: 39

Ex-roller, you're allowed to have bad days! We all had them when we were smokers, too. It won't last forever, I promise.
