Do you deserve better?

The concept of 'deserving', for me, is just one of those sticks with which I can beat myself. 'I don't deserve (insert nice thing here)' or 'I sure deserved (insert bad thing here)'.

I wish I deserved better. I am currently going through a temporary seperation with a child. I try my best to be the best I can be but it seems like I am always given punishment for something I have not committed. I have little confidence. I have little faith in myself.

Everyone deserves health. Everyone deserves respect and kindness, and Love.

m,

Great question. I'm curious to see what members will respond.

Do you deserve better?  Do you deserve to get better?  Yes? No? Why?  What thoughts does it bring up when you think about being "deserving"?  As I've written elsewhere, the whole concept makes me shudder.  I'm trying to work through it and would sure be interested in what other people think or feel about being deserving.
