Session Two Group Walkthrough

Its great to see you working on session two.  I am also still working on this session.  I see that you have already been working on your pleasant and accomplishment activities by working on your career in financial services.  Good job!  Give yourself a pat on the back.  Your really starting to get it.  I have been posting my pleasant and accomplishment activities for the day on the thread I started and it is helping me to keep motivated to work on doing them every day.  You should try posting yours there and see if it helps.  It feels good posting them each and is also a pleasant activity and you can see what you have accomplished each day no matter how small and it makes me feel better about myself.  Anyway I have got to go for now.  I have a walk to go on.  Another pleasant and accomplishment activities to add to my list for today.
Hope this helps you

Im still on session two, not sure if Im getting it, but trying. Pleasant activities? For as long as I can remember most everything I did that should have been what others considered fun, I tolerated. Going to the zoo, the lake, the park, a game etc. I dont remember "FUN" I wish I could just learn to do things and have good positive thoughts in my head. Then it might be better.

I remember going on trips and I was always, "what if this happens" or what if that. I worried always and I still do.

Red,

Good for you for realizing you need a break.  This is actually positive, you want to be able to focus on the program and progress at your own pace.  Take some you time, relax, and enjoy the holidays!

I am still working on session 2 its taking me a little longer than I expected.  I am having a little trouble staying focused and motivated at the moment.  I have been busy thinking about Christmas and all that goes with it.  I have also been having vertigo for the last 2 wks and headaches for a few days  now and of course my usual trouble of not getting enough sleep.  I am sorry I am falling behind but I am sure it will get better after new years.  I'll try to catch up with you all later, but for now I am going to have to slow down and do this at my own pace.

Merry Christmas to everyone & Happy New Year

Great activity Jimmy!

Keep pushing forward for more walking time!  If it helps clear your head, then use it as a coping mechanism!

I like to walk too!

I borrow the kids ipod and walk for 1/2 hour..I am trying to build up to 1 hour..trying to find the time!

it does clear my head though and makes me think clearer!

I've been thinking about your list of activities.  I like the swimming thing.  I think exercise is good, you enjoy it and I vote for it (fi my vote counts).  lol
I also wish I knew how to "do" stained glass.  A local man in town did it and volunteered to teach me, however, he was quite old and unfortunately it didn't come to fruition.  so I vote stained glass.
Now with these "votes" in.....lol, you can see I may be biased in my voting.  (I used to teach swim lessons and I've always wanted to do stained glass).
However, one is physical exercise, the other is creative, fulfilling, using mental imaging, thinking, etc.  So there is a rational behind my bias.

Hi Lance, I was reading through the program myself and what really stuck with me was the part about Reachable Goals. Sometimes it's easy to set high goals for ourselves, but it can be overwhelming when there are too many goals which we can't reach.

The program mentioned three tips for which goals to focus on: keeping your goals specific, making your goals about behaviours and not feelings (what you want to do), and setting reasonable reachable goals (3 - 5 rather than many goals).

Have you taken a look at the goal planner? It explains how to then break up each goal into smaller steps.

Let us know if this is helpful, and which goals you think you'd like to choose to work on.
