Well I am glad my post helped in some way!
I used to do that too. I would tell myself 8-10 hours at most and no more. Then I would force myself to stay awake even when I was exhausted. I was so miserable! Like miserable all the time and Tired to boot!
Everyone told me: Rest when you are tired. But I had some preconceived idea of what should and should not be. But eventually they got through to me and I now sleep whenever I am tired. And I might sleep more then most but when I am awake I am much more blanced and happy. Plus, I noticed I am sleeping a bit less now then before, naturally. So I must be on the right track! And on days where I sleep like 14-16 hours aday: I give myself a break and remind myself I am healing!!!
The only trick to this working though is to be honest with onself. It is important not to sleep as an escape or a hobby or a way not to be bored. If you are honest this works. ALWAYS sleep when tired, NO sleeping as a hobby! (that last one you know about lol, you are the one who pointed it out to me! lol)
Anyway, that has been something that is trememdously helpful to me!
So if you are tired, go to bed hun. Your body is healing, your brain is healing, your heart and mind are healing they need sleep! Give it to them. and when you wake up from a nice long nap, rested. Pat yourself on the back for respecting yourself and giving yourself what you need!
