Well I do not have grand-children or children for that matter but I see what you mean about the grandmother/granddaughter bond. My grandma was just the best. We lived far apart but we were so close! I loved her so much and was so sad when she passed! There is something very special in the bond between a grandparent and grandchild.

I can see your love for her in your posts and it warms my heart. You sound like a superb grandma!

Have a good day and keep us posted!

You know I absolutely love being a mother and my relationship with my son is totally awesome and has gotten stronger and better with every day since he was born. However, just when you think it can't get any better - along comes the granddaughter!  Truly a blessing - there are not words to describe!  My mom passed away a couple of years ago and I think about that look in her eye when she looked at my son - I understand now!  Mom and my son were very close and I hope that I can have that with my granddaughter and any others that might come to be.  I only have the one son. I hope I have as many grandchildren as he and his wife want!

Hi Goofy,

Will you be MY Grandmother?!?  I would have loved a playhouse like that when I was young! Maybe someday I'll have a granddaughter to buy one for and I'll look into the info you gave.  (Nothing on the horizon just yet, but oldest daughter got married in May)

Your granddaughter is a lucky little girl to have such a cool and thoughtful Grandmother!  Hope your wrist and shoulder are feeling better.

Hello Goofy,

I was very sorry to hear about your fall. I was really touched by reading your posts about your granddaughter. She sounds lovely and I could just see how much you love her. I think you make a great grandmother and you are both lucky to have each other. I hope to hear more about her progress :)

Children ---tend---- to be bright spots.  I say tend because in my case it can tip either way but that is bipolar for you.

It is easy to find the inner child when we have a child in our life.
and that inner child is a good key to healing.

Okay Wildcat:

It is 6x10x6.  It's a cedar cabin.  It has a side porch with two benches and a toy box, a back window with shutters and a flower, and the other side has a bench with two stools.  Inside the do-do (translates "door" from a 20 month old) is just an area that has a shelf.

I bought it through Sam's Club for $300 - Woodridge Playhouse Model 6508.  I gave it to her early as her birthday is in October and I wanted her to have the cooler weather in which to enjoy it.  I bought green indoor/outdoor carpet to go under it and on top of the concrete pad.  She has a pretend mower and mows the grass like da-da!  She seems to be upset she can't park her "car" in there, but she's getting used to it.  Right now she is in awe over the shutters and door that is her size and the fact they can open.  Her mother (petite) can fit inside so they pretend stories (i.e. big bag wolf) and she has a cousin who is 4 who plays semi-well with her. She takes her baby for a ride in her car, then gets the stroller out and goes in and out of the house and car, her baby in tow.

She lights up my life.  At 10, I hope she's being who she is, making good grades in school, and still has an active imagination that will let her be either or all -  the hostess, mother, princess or entrepreneur.  It is okay with me!

Most of my scheduled "fun" activities involve her.

I would caution anyone who purchases this playhouse to be careful getting the boards out of the box.  lol
It wasn't difficult to put together, but that's just from watching from a chair and reading the directions, pointing and listening to a few choice words from the laborers.

Hope this information that some of you will find useful!  Thanks for asking me about my granddaughter.

ok ... lets go all the way ... what kind of play house is it - dimentions?
and the maker for those of us with our own gaggle of littles and are in the know???
what colour?
and at two what does she play?  and at 10 will she be the mother/entrepreneur or princess/hostess to the hotel? - a chance to let your imagination go and let us know about your hopes and dreams for your grand-daughter (because these are ALWAYS POSITIVE!!!).

Thanks y'all (Kentucky lingo for you all)!   I am feeling a bit better.  I am looking forward to playing with her in the playhouse and I am grateful that I have someone who could fill in for me (putting it together).  She loves it already...I could see that yesterday and it's for ages 2-10, so we have 8 years to play (she'll be 2 in October).  I guess you both know I am working on changing my thoughts so that I type this before I type that below.  lol, I'm getting there!

Hi Goofy,

I am sorry about your fall.  I hope you are feeling a little better today.  Your granddaughter is very lucky to have a caring grandmother like you. I hope you will get to play with her in it soon!

Goofy,

So sorry to hear about your fall. But, on a positive note, your granddaughter now has a wonderful playhouse to play in! That was very thoughtful of you, and despite your arm in a sling and the pain, know that you did a good thing.
Stay positive, I understand that it can be awful when things don't go as planned, but it seems that life never goes as planned
Make a date this week or over the weekend to play with your granddaughter in her new playhouse!
