Paisley, Some individuals who are grieving such a loss have found it helpful to commemorate their memories in some special way. Maybe this would be helpful to you? Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator

hi paisley. How long have you been living with this great grief? From what I understand it usually takes us about two years to go through the cycles of pain and loss... (the first christmas, the first spring, the person loved the turning leaves... I miss out hot chocolate weekends...). Have you looked at how you see the deaths in relation to your life? Guilt? Loneliness? Isolation? Worthlessness? sometimes we see the dead as the ones who deserve life where we don't . sometimes we hold a bunch of guilt for still being alive. Paisley, where are you in your deuille (grief process)? what do you need to take back a bit of your life?

I spent a lot of time reading the posts and thoughts, this morning. And realize that I have a very Blessed life. Yes, I have lost some very key friends....... I dreampt of one this morning, she was just beaming. Laughing and yelling and carrying on with a cowboy hat on. I would often call her, after she passed, just to hear her sing on the answering machine. We used to watch the football games together on the phone. She had cable and a delay, so I would squelch my touchdown joy for the few seconds until the signal reached her TV. She was just amazed that I could contain myself until she got to see the touchdown, and not ruin the surprise for her. I miss her so much that I weep as I type. She was like a Mother for me for 25 years.

Hi Paisley, I too have no enthusiasm for anything. You are grieving for the loss of your friends, you need to. Lonelyness is also so depressing. i lived in Africa for a number of years and made my close friends there when the children were small and you meet people on the school run and at various activities. When I left that life behind I have been alone apart from my Husband and kids who are now grown and quite rightly making a life of their own. I miss the company of my girlfriends and the laughs we were able to have together. Its not so easy to make freinds later in life. I know you can always join a club of some kind or another but its just not the same as dear friends whom you have fond memorys with. I also get so tired. Not like in my youth where i could party all night and then get up as fresh as a daisy in the morning. Is it an age thing? i like to think not as i want my life to have an upward swing to it rather than downhill all the way! We will win this paisley, together with the help of the group we will come out of this with the strength needed to get through everyday and hopefully be able to help others too. Good luck and post away. No one here will tell you to shut up although the Dally Llama can give good strong and welcome advise when he needs to!

You ARE lonely and yes, you are depressed because of this loss, Paisley! You take the time to grieve right now and come to terms with this great loss you've had and focus on ways to kickstart your life again like you're doing with this site! You've found friends among the members here and you must talk all you want and wait for responses from the other members; there's a mass of life-experience and depression illness in here and the moderators are great too... Take the time to read back through the posts and the various threads and then commence your sessions one by one and do them at your own pace. Ask questions as you go along about anything that puzzles you

Where did the enthusiam go? I was once so tickled about everything. Yes I love my spring flowers, my new bicycle, the new location of the business I work at. Example: I blew off my last fencing class. I can't get off the couch once I perch on it. I do the minimal, but thats all. I can eat chocolate chip cookie by the handfull, then swear at myself because I'm chubby. What is that vicious circle I am spinning in? I have lost 3 very dear friends. These ladies were my my precious companions. We shared everything, am I just plain lonely? So many things to accomplish, no desire to tackle any of them. I just plant myself in front of the mind eraser (tv) every night. My issues are common, nothing worthy of a movie. Money, health issues, loss of friends and family. It sounds like life to me! But I just can't get my fanny in gear and get things done to improve my situation. Any advise or input, other than "shut up you big baby and get it done?!"
