sandy i am writing to offer you my support. perhaps you should also be looking for other ways to help yourself. there may not be a pill that will instantly cure you. Writing to this site is a good sign for you. perhaps you can exercise more, write a journal, read about cognitive behaviour therapy and try some self help exercises. change your habits, your routines somewhat. You didn't mention therapy, which i think is also a good step...if you read through the postings on this site you will come up with a lot of specific ideas for action. I woke up this morning feeling overwhelmed and frozen. I don't know how the day will turn out, but i do feel that I have a number of tools that I can try to use to relax me and hopefully energize me. these are ideas have picked up on this site and also in researching CBT i wish you well bob

Hi Sandy, It's good that you're here. I'm sorry you're in such a dark place. I know, only too well, how you're feeling. The sadness, the overwhelming feeling of anxiety, and (it sounds like) not being able to keep your mind on one thing long enough to be able to think it through. I'm no doctor; but it sounds to me like you haven't found the right medication yet. Your post didn't specify which kind of doctor you're seeing. If it's a GP, their knowledge of depression meds is limited. (in MY opinion) Also there are so many new meds on the market that they can't keep up with them all. I would recommend going to a specialist who's familiar with different meds and their potential side effects. What you described is exactly what I went through with a med. that wasn't right for me. It was because of a post in this forum that I twigged to what was going on with me. I thought I was loosing my mind. :quest: I know that you WILL feel better once you find the right combo of depression & anxiety meds. You've already done a lot of the work because you've tried so many already. Maybe the next combo will be the right one! I hope so. Wishing you well SOON, Sandy. Kate14

Sandy, You have come to the right place! Please feel free to roam the site at your own pace. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find our Depression Test. This test is not a diagnostic tool and is not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. If you have any question or concerns with our site or please contact Support Department at support@depressioncenter.net. We are open to any questions or concerns you may have. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Josie ___________________________________ The Depression Center Support Team.

Hello everone I am new here but my name is Sandy and I am going through depression and anxiety now...I am on meds but doc keeps switching me around due to the ones he is prescribing are just not working for me I guess. I havent gone through this in many many years but I have been so depressed....i cry on and off all day...dont like myself...dont have any energy to do anything but work and that is sometimes a task...I dont go out anymore...dont want to be around certain people etc etc plus deal with anxiety so I worry and fear eveyrhting and naything you can imagine and obsess about it until I am sick and it paralyzes and controls my whole day....how do I try to break this vicisious circle? My brother's wife left him and he was suicidal at first but now 4 months down the road he is better then before but wife still doesnt know if she will work on the marriage...worried what he will be like if she doesnt want to so I live in fear over that. I feel like I am losing my mind...like now at work I ust want to go home and go to sleep. Hope I hear from people going through the same (not that I want someone to go through this by any means)and some great helpful advice and support. I just want to be happier. Thanks for letting me vent Sandy
