Thankyou so much for the great responses. it actually makes me feel a little better knowing people are going through the same thing you are and your not alone. hearing your storys and input helps. even today me and my boss and all the girls sat and ate lunch together but i was kinda of pushed back and i dont think i said but two words even my boss said i was being anti-social today, but i dont want to!!!! i want to share in conversations but its like i try to talk but iam not loud enough, quick enough i just dont know is that part of depression? will the medicine help me in that area of my life? i know iam a shy person and always have been and people tend to think iam quite a b**** because i dont talk and i rarley smile its like i have no facial expressions.

I can totally relate! I've had to work in fields that I hate my whole adult life and have not worked for three years. I am now having to face going back and don't know what's going to happen to me. I have a bad marriage and feel very trapped. If I have to go back to my old life I'm not sure I can make it. Staying in my marriage and having a home seems to be the lesser of two miseries.

I can also completely relate to you. I was in a job which just seemed to cause my depression some how. Eventually it was the job or my life. Obviously I choice the better. I also learned something recently about my cutting. I do it when my anxiety gets the best of me and I am doing it to focus on the cut rather than the anxiety. At least at this point I can recognize it. Are you seeing professionals? It is the best thing that you can do for yourself! And you are worth it!! Patti

Maybe your co-workers are genuinely concerned about you. Please don't assume that just because they are older than you that they can't relate to what you're feeling. I think I am probably quite a bit older than you and I can relate to how you feel and what you are doing (with me, it's my right arm). I don't think you should necessarily tell your co-workers everything that is going on with you but you could surely say that you aren't feeling well or that you feel sad. In the mean time, I wonder if you are getting professional help for your depression? If not, you really should. You don't have to suffer alone. Don't give up.

help!!! can anybody relate with me? i work full-time in an office with 5 other girls and i have a problem with depression obviously and it's really starting to interfere with my job i never had this problem with my other jobs but then again i was a waitress and constinly moving and doing something and i worked with a younger crowd then and i could relate but now i dont know what to do. i dont want them to hate me because every one says i always look so sad? i dont know could i get like some sort of face lift to where i am always smiling may be then people would like me. i havent told anyone til now it feels good to get it out i just need help.
