I just started practicing mindfulness after reading this thread. There are a lot of great articles and youtube videos describing it. I so far really like it. I find it easier then meditation. I also like it cuz it is helping me connect with nature again. I get so lost in my head I have not been enjoying nature like I used to. I am going to try to do a mindfulness exercise once a day at least! It can be very relaxing. Does anyone have any more suggestions when it comes to mindfulnes. I'm a noob and would like to know!

Self care breathing and mindfulness! I totally agree. I am slowly learning how essential these basic skills are. I am finding it tricky to remind myself. Does any one have any good tips to remember regular mindfulness and self care?

Great to hear from you too Ashley,

I miss our little talks for they helped me in a Big way.
Like every thing I learned from you and doing the cognitive program here on this site and also the many lesson I learned on the Depression center site. This programs and lessoned learned have help me in so many ways in my life and especially when dealing with the health issues that I have been facing over the last few years. Just today when faced with a major anxiety provoking issue I found myself using the tools I learned here. I didn't even know I was doing it at first it came to me automatically. Like riding a bicycle I guess. You never forget once you've learned how and change your conative thought process.

Anyway it was a pleasant surprise and saved me once again. I belong to a site and support on line for IBD now and found myself talking about CBT and Self care in my posts and how important it is to our Emotional Wellbeing and Physical Health. Some one posted that they were amazed that I seemed to be so positive when I had be challenged by such adversity. And I responded that it was something I studied and learned online called Cognitive behavior therapy from site out of Canada. So Ashley you see without even knowing it I was doing it and it kept me calm and gave me the strength to Challenge the negative thoughts and turn them into positive thoughts without even thinking about it. It just came naturally to me. It gave me that boost of confidence that I needed to carry on and keep fight the good fight.

So I guess what I really want to say to everyone here struggling with Panic or Anxiety or Depression just keeping studying and working the cbt program here or the program on their Depression Center. They work complement each other really And things will get better in time.

Don't give up the fight and remember.

These are two of the things I do to relax and reduce anxiety.  First is, "Breathing" as learned in the program here and "Mindfulness" which I learned else where. But most important by far for me has been "Self Care", then everything else just falls into place and I can relax a little and let myself breath again. Which is so important for me when dealing with my emotional health and the health issues that I face on a daily basis. They are both connected really. Treating the Whole person is so important for my health and sanity.
