Anxiety enablers or encouragers

You never know it could happen. That light bulb moment. I am much more relaxed without the cable television and all its negative trapping, "Propaganda" as some of us call it. Lots of Negative energy and Haters on the news these days. Not to mention the disgusting reality shows. Just full of anger and hate. The only channel I used to like was the history channel and now they play Pawn Stars reruns all day. I used to like the discovery channel 15 years ago but it's junk now. PBS is nothing but cartoons all day. So no I do not miss the Cable tv at all or the landline phone with nothing but hang up calls and telemarketers. Now I am free to be the authentic me without all the bad influences or anxiety producing C***P on the media these days. I am now free to relax, enjoy my life and be happy again..Like Davit has mentioned many times, "I want to" instead of "I have to". I wanted to do this for a long long time and I have. I no longer have to have all the above mentioned negatives in my life anymore... I have taken my life back....Red:))) .

Wish I had your courage, but I just have this "techno" thing I can't get over.

Hi Hugs. Just a little update you might enjoy. I have been thinking about cancelling my cable television service for months now so today I went to their place of business and I did the deed. Cancelled my cable tv connection and I cancelled my land line phone service with them too. I did keep my internet connection though. What a relief this is and as a added benefit I have reduced my monthly bill by 75 dollars a month. I can get 5 channels on my tv with rabbits ears and that's way more than I want or need. Plus I have a cell phone for phone calls anyway. Thanks Hugs for motivating me to finally do this. I feel much better without all the extra chatter...Red.....

Interesting topic Hugs. I was just thinking the other day that it would be so nice to take the tv out of the house and wall unit that it sits in and replace it with my aquarium. The internet can be a stressor for me too but I have stopped reading the news online and now use my computer for positives like finding out how to cycle my new aquarium. How to finish a quilt and work on various hobbies. How to do small repairs around the house. I also order parts and kindle books on line too and use google maps to get around town. So going without the computer online access would be hard but I do not think I would miss the television at all. I can listen to my battery driven radio if we have a national disaster and I need news alerts. I am sure the government would sent us a text message over our cell phones if need be.

With my internet down for a couple of days, I wonder if it's something which hinders or helps?  My brain is too busy as it is.  Do others feel the same way?  Has anyone lost their connection, and felt "better".  I wonder if I should disconnect the tv as well, since once I gave that up for 40 days, and my brain felt so "refreshed".  Any input out there?
