Avoiding to go out of bed in the morning

10 years ago 0 60 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I´m at point 3 of the programm. Till now I dind´t find the key to get out of that state of mind where I don´t care for anithing. I just get up when I´m very tired of being on bed or feel bad on stomach. I feel good when I have social life, but my anxious thoughts stop me to make new friends. So my life is very grey, I´m too much alone. So I don´t wan´t to get out of bed for another boring day work day or weekend day.

Welcome Agua,

Avoiding is a common issue with anxiety. The problem is avoiding makes anxiety worse for many of the reasons you listed below. Exposure decreases anxiety and avoidance increases anxiety. As tough as it is try not to avoid. Set small goals for yourself at first. For example, today I will get out of bed and do the dishes, tomorrow I will make it to my appointment, etc. The program will help you to create a plan also.

You may also want to check out depressioncenter.net - staying in bed could also be related to depression.

What will your goal be for today? How will you reward yourself once you reach this goal?

What are you missing that would give you the drive to get out of bed. It sounds more like you have no reason too than you just don't.

I´m avoiding to get out of bed in the morning since ever I know me. When I´m in bed I fell in a protected shell and I don´t care what´s happening outside the world, I´m in another warm world. When I get up I feel bad because I know that I miss apointments, arrive late at work, etc, etc. Every night I promisse myself I will get out of bed in the next day in hours apropriatre, but that doens´t happen. I feel guilty all day, mad with myself and that I have no control on a simple thing that everybody does.
