Some thoughts that I had this morning that I wanted to get out, express and share here in the forum..

This is just a little something that I learned along the way.
H.A.L.T. This is a slogan they use to combat craving when dealing with addictive behavior.
H.A.L.T..which stands for Hungry, Angry, Lonely, and Tired..

I was thinking that this may also be useful when it comes to anxiety/panic because anxious and negative thoughts seem to come in waves sometimes or just pop up out of  nowhere it seems like our minds are addicted to our negative core beliefs and just naturally look for whats the most familiar to us..So I was thinking that HALT may just help in some way when dealing with the negative thoughts just like they do with addiction. If negative thoughts which lead to anxious thoughts and anxiety/panic start creeping in to our subconscience, maybe if we just stopped in our tracks and said to ourselves, Hey Stop this," HALT" what is really going on here. If we just challenge these anxious and negative thoughts right then and there we could stop the vicious cycle and see these thoughts for what the really are. Untruths that we let control us and our lives.

Also maybe just like HALT we could also just possibly be hungry and need to eat a little something to eat or angry and need to accept the fact that it is ok to feel angry or lonely which is a normal feeling too which we can acknowledge and accept or get out amongst other when we feel like it..and then there is last but not least,Tired..How many times have you gotten tired and just keep on going and then later began to feel exhausted and overwhelmed? When if you had only taken some time out to rest you could of stopped yourself from plummeting into a downward spiral.

One thing I do know for sure is that when I do not pay attention to how I am feeling then things do seem to get out of control in other aspects of my life also. So I try to be mindful of the slogan HALT and address my physical and emotional needs before things get out of control.
