What would the papparazzi say?

Every time I look at that picture you put up I want to put a canoe on the water and paddle. I want to hear the sound again and see the ripples. But mostly I want to experience the silence and smell the air. It doesn't take much to make me happy. Unfortunately for too many years it has taken little to make me sad. I'm living a quiet life but it is nothing compared to what I have known. I have paddled on a dead calm lake and on streams and rivers. What a shame I can only go back in memory, but what a memory. Thank God for memory even though it is the root of all our problems.

Ps. I attribute the loss of my knees to too many years kneeling on them in cold conditions.

Davit, I just love what you wrote, thanks for sharing it.

Hugs, I put in a little prayer for you and your Mom today..
I am also sending well wishs your way today too, for extra measure.

Ashley,  Thanks for reminder that we should not compare ourselves to others and I agree material things are not what makes us happy. I believe that true happiness is something that comes from within and from helping others..There are many here on this site that help others just by being here to share and offer a caring listening ear so for that we should be happy that we have the gift of compassion and that gift is one that gives back to us in many ways..We should never forget how special we are..

Ashley, I guess some things I learned cooking will help tomorrow, since mom is under the weather.

Thanks for the reminder Davit.

A poor man has everything in the world to gain, A rich man has everything to lose. In the end we leave this world with what we came into it with. The material stays behind.

Hugs!

Stop looking at those photos and comparing yourself. That will never lead to any good. Those millionaires are a very, very small percentage of humanity and no one can live up to their standards as no one has a whole team of people to help us look good.

The truth is Hugs, material items do not make you happy.  However, I know confidence can certainly help people feel better though and it sounds like you may benefit from a boost. What has made you feel confident in the past and what would make you have more confidence tomorrow?

Well I'd say he looks better than me digging potatoes in a pair of old see through jogging pants and RBLT moccasins. I look like a toad with a potato fork. (camouflage jogging pants) People speed up when they drive by. They probably bring their kids to show them what you turn into if you don't behave. Ah well the cat doesn't care, he just want to know if there are mice hiding in those plants.

I clicked thru some pics of celebrities on the internet, from the email provider.  They usually have a caption, underneath a picture of some actor in casual or beautiful clothing in any place from an exotic beach to a Target store, and  they're often millionaires!

So I wondered, what would someone say if they took a picture of me, right now, the way I was dressed?

"There's Hugs, wearing a torn, old, NBA top, with his old workpants, and untied, old Payless runners".
