Positive thinking can go a long way

Hey Stef, Your doin good. I'm doin good. It is great to be a non-smoker.We don't stink any more!!! It is getting somewhat easier for me. I've never went this long without smoking since I was 13 years old. I don't want to loose my quit. When the demon comes calling I just turn my back and say "no thanks" I am not a smoker.BLUE CLOUD My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 33 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 660 Amount Saved: $132.00 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 11 Mins: 19 Seconds: 21

Not having to sneak around to smoke made the week so much better. Just knowing I have choosen to not smoke makes me feel in control. Not smoking keeps me in control. I can do it. Busy night

Just my opinion, I think you need to start your meter over again. You can stay up all night, worry about a man who doesnt worry about you and smoke one after the other. All your doing is making things worse. This is for you. Done only by you. You can make yourself a winner. Keep it real and you will be able to just breathe. Hello all

Hey Hammer & Sarah, The nicodemon has a best friend. His name is doubt. If he can get you to doubt your ability to quit then you probably wont. The mind has a best friend. His name is reason. If he can get you to remember the reason you don't want to smoke then you wont. Best wishes to you both. I Think I Can ,I Think I Can

Good Wednesday morning, It was on a Wednesday morning 5 weeks ago that I decided to quit smoking. (July 4th). I packed my pockets full of positive thinking and tore up the remaining cigaretts I had left, one at a time, I broke them into pieces and told myself the reason why I did not want to smoke that cigarette. There were 18 cigarettes left in the pack and by the time I got to the last one the only reason left was the money spent on them. I was thinking about my reasons this morning and they have all had a positive effect. 1. Oldest Daughter 2. Second Daughter 3. # 1 Grand Child 4. # 2 Grand Child 5. # 3 Grand Child 6. # 4 Grand Child 7. # 5 Grand Child 8. to breathe better 9. to feel better 10. to smell better 11. to have more energy 12. to gain weight 13. to have whiter teeth 14. to have a cleaner smelling house 15. to have a cleaner smelling car 16. to get rid of those messy ash trays 17. for all my friends 18. the money they cost 5 short weeks later I am recieving praise from my children, more hugs from my grand children, every thing looks and smells better about me, my house and car, my friends keep a closer check on me and tell me how proud of me they are. I have recieved numberous gifts as rewards from them all. I have gained 3 pounds ( I am still under weight-but that is going to change too) and I feel soooo much better. The craves are not bad, more like thoughts and I dismiss them rather quickly. When I read Duffis's post this morning about positive thinking I just had too post this. It is working for me. Nobody smokes anymore :)

You know how when your quiting you notice every one who does smoke. I live in a small country town and alot of people smoke there. Last week end we traveled to Frisco Texas, just outside of Dallas and never saw one person smoking. Even outside the Mall. We were talking about it and wondering if they had an ordinance. Anyway it was very nice. It made me feel good to be with non-smokers and still have a good time. I didn't think you could do that before I quit. Care and Maintenance

Bear, I thought you were changing your image. I was just going to grin and bare it!! I think I got the message when I could no longer climb 18 stairs without being winded and my heart racing. I can climb those stairs now and I think about that every time I think about smoking. I don't want one puff ever again.
