Git R' Done

I did good today. I didn't smoke and that's the important thing! I worked in the garden today digging, transplanting, planting and weeding. I'm almost done and all I'll have to do is watch it grow and to keep me motivated not to smoke, I'll be a faithfull weeder this year and do it smoke-free! ~Y~A~Y~! I had a couple rough spots today, one this morning after I was awake and maybe a couple through the day. I just took a few deep breaths and it helped. You know, I never knew there were 4 steps to breathing! DID NOT KNOW THAT! I even cut out my coffee, I did have a couple sips today but that was like an hour after I got up. I use to drink 4 cups of coffee and smoke like a chimney in the morning. The logical thing to do is cut it out so that's what I'm working on. I think I'll clean off my desk in the morning to switch it up a bit. Hopefully Day 3 will be better!:) Happy Mother's Day To All You Moms! How Did Ya Do It?

Hi Ma G, I've heard it said here that cold turkey v NRT a bit like having removing a plaster from your skin. Do you rip it off quickly or pull it gradually? Both methods have an element of pain, but which is the best? Mr Ed ps - I'm a coward, I went for the slow removal hehehe. I have a high tolerance for pain like when I got my last tattoo near my armpit, my tattoo artist couldn't believe I sat for it without flinching. So I guess I prefer to rip it off. :eg: My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/11/2007 Smoke-Free Days: -1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

How Did Ya Do It?

Why yes, I am ready. I'm going to get up early and head out to get me some patches too. :p I'm going into this with a good attitude and knowing that I will be okay in the end because not having a smoke will not kill me, it's smoking them that will. I have considered using the first step of patches for 6 weeks and then step down until completely off. Although I'll be paying for them myself, it'll still be cheaper than what it is for me to actually smoke. I'm looking forward to my first Summer smoke-free in 17 years. As I type that out, it's so unbelievable that I have smoked for so long. NOT ANYMORE! I'm Done. For Good. How Did Ya Do It?

I'm on the east coast, somewhere... hehehe. Smokes usually run me about $3.50 a pack. BLAH. When I quit a few weeks ago, I bought about 40 hedges with the cash I usually spent on smokes. They are most certainly better looking than ciggy butts all over the yard. Here's to a long and wonderful smoke-free life... CHEERS. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/11/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

How Did Ya Do It?

Hello All. Great Site! (I'll be here awhile) ;) So I was wondering who went cold turkey, used a NRT or perscription drugs? I'm going to use the patch after an unsuccessful attempt at cold turkey... Any thoughts and experience in all areas are much appreciated! Thanks! How Did Ya Do It?

Yeah, but what do ya do with the nozzle :quest: unless I really don't wanna know... lol I did have a post written out and submitted it but it came back with an error and lost it. Oh well. I have used welbutrin in the past and it was awful. I cried about everything and honestly felt like I was gonna loose my mind. Not a good feeling so I quit taking it. I used the patch a couple times and my only gripe about it is the nightmares it gives me if I fall asleep with it on. I'd wake up and ask myself if I had one on and touch my arm and sure enough, I did and rip it off and fall back asleep with no probs. Wonder why it does that and only if I have one on in lala land. Weird. I agree, everyone is different. I will say this, I'm at the end of my rope with this smoking. It's gotta stop because I don't wanna die young and from cancer. It's one of my worse fears other than my PA (peanut allergy). I can control my destiny and I will because I can. You guys are great! I just hope in time I can help ya'all as much as you are helping me. Thank You sooooooo much for all the responses. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/11/2007 Smoke-Free Days: -2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Git R' Done

Hey all. I'm still alive and not smoking. Taking the days one day at a time and sometimes a second at a time. I'm ocasionally getting craves. I even went as far as ditching the coofee and Mt. Dew and now drink Pepsi which I never did... I can't give up all my caffine! I gave up alot as it is with the coffee and DEW and oh I forgot, the Budweiser and tequila because I like to drink once in awhile and don't now because it's a known trigger for me. I think I'll wait till I'm off the patches and not drink in excess... (I usually grab a 12-pac that last me about 3-4 days... I'll drink it every night til gone.) I just don't wanna push my luck right now ya know?! Why is the board reading last post first? I haven't been here in a few... It looks different or is it just me :quest: My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/11/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 120 Amount Saved: $21.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 10 Mins: 12 Seconds: 22
