Sunday Hello To All

Hope everyone is having a great smoke free day today. Football will be the choice of entertainment here today and I plan to just get a lot of reading done. Being smoke free 90 days now is just plain amazing to me. 90 DAYS!!!! My lord I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd ever be able to say that. I was such an avid smoker always spouting about my rights and yadda yadda yadda, that for me to be sitting in this forum with all you folks is truly a miracle. Yes, I was that person that always had a cig in her hand and had no pity for the non smokers who had to inhale my smoke. I feel so bad about my behavior now and wonder how I ever got by being so prejudice. It's a wonder someone didn't take a 2 x 4 and knock me over the head, lol. I will never take my quit for granted though. I know as a recovering alcoholic that the addiction is always waiting for me to come back into it's web. Same with the cigs. I have always felt that if I ever lit up that first cig it would be all over for me. I don't want to fail in this quit. I have gone too far to have to go back now. I urge all you quitters who are new to this to please have faith in yourself and hang tough. It may seem rough, it may seem lonely, but I know you can do this. We all can and are doing this. Ok, enough sermon for one day. Didn't mean to get carried away. I'm just so happy to now be smoke free and back in control of my life. stay safe and smoke free vicki just 1 puff away from 2 packs a day ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/17/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 90 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,618 Amount Saved: $630 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 7 Mins: 20 Seconds: 22

smoking memo

Well yes that does make me mad. We were all taken in by the tobacco industry and we are paying for it now. Many have already paid with their lives. keep the quit vicki just 1 puff away from 2 packs a day My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/17/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 90 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,618 Amount Saved: $630 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 7 Mins: 20 Seconds: 38

Sunday Hello To All

Thanks all for the words, balloons and support. Silver I'm doing ok. Have to do the nitro tabs every once in a while and that has me a little nervous, but all in all I'm a very lucky person. We all pay for the things we do to ourselves in our lives so I'm the one at fault for the smoking related problems. I'll have the MRI's in 10 days for the brain and a bunch of other tests at that time. I'm tough and I'm hangin in there. There is so much we all have to be thankful for and I'm not about to forget that. I plan to keep the quit. vicki just 1 puff away from 2 packs a day My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/17/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 90 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,620 Amount Saved: $630 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 7 Mins: 29 Seconds: 4

Drop back and punt

Bill In my opinion you did the right thing. You could so easily have caved and you didn't. Yes I know you got the NRT, but that is still way better than lighting up. Some may disagree with that and I'm no expert but I think you have to do what it takes to keep from smoking that 1st cig again. Stay close to this site and let us know how you are. vicki just 1 puff away from 2 packs a day My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/17/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 90 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,613 Amount Saved: $630 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 6 Mins: 58 Seconds: 14

My Experience / Advice

Wonderful post. I especially liked the part of stepping on someones cig if they try and tempt you. Thing here is that as expensive as they've become, someone might knock your lights out, lol. But you're right. They'll never do it again. Keep the quit. vicki just 1 puff away from 2 packs a day My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/17/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 93 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,732 Amount Saved: $651 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 16 Mins: 34 Seconds: 12
