Melinda,
It is great to hear that you are o.k. Seriously, if there was any type of problem with your heart the tests would have shown so. In your post please read what you said. It looks as though you have a trend. You go on the meds and then go off when you feel better. Maybe this time try staying on them a bit longer. Talk to your doctor about this trend and see if you both can work out a plan. We thank you for posting your thoughts with us today. We are happy to see that you are opening up to us and are welcome to advise.
Take care and we will be looking forward to hearing from you again soon.
Melanie
Ann, are you still taking the sessions in the Panic Program we offer? This program has been created to help individuals learn how to face their fear by challenging their anxious thoughts and doing gradual step by step exposure work. This program can teach you to handle your feelings better, such as by applying relaxation techniques before you go out and when you feel a little anxious. It can also teach you through baby steps to challenge your anxious thoughts.
The program is free, so I hope you'll not hesitate to take advantage of it.
Keep us posted,
Melanie

Shedav6,
Always wait for the next dose after being sick because you never know if the pill has been absorbed! When trying to determine if you have the flu or a PA, try taking your temperature? The flu is usually followed by an increase in body temperature.
Try our panic diary and record your symptoms. This diary can be helpful in the future to determine if are experiencing a PA or if you getting sick again.
Thanks for asking these important questions today :).
Take care,
Melanie
Hi Lemondrop,
Glad to hear that your PA has resolved for the time being. From your post I see that you have been on chemo. Does your doctor know that you are having these PA'S and that they are a result of your pain? Having seen this in the past, I have to ask you a personal question. Are you seeing a pain control specialist? If not, ask your doctor to refer you to one. Pain is a trigger for your PA's and if you get the pain controlled then maybe this can be a starting point for you?
Please continue to post your thoughts and concerns with us. Thanks for letting us know how you are feeling today.
Take care,
Melanie

Hi Debbie,
If your doctor has prescribed you Ativan then it is safe to take. Can a family member or a friend go out with you today? If the Ativan does not work then you can have someone with you that you trust to take care of you if you have a PA. If you have any questions with regards to Ativan, please call the pharmacy where you received your prescription. You pharmacist will and can give you information of the drug you are taking.
Hope this helps :).
Melanie
