A new moment.. A new day #2

You are right Handy, WE are doing this and I know for a fact I wouldn't have made it as far as I did if I hadn't discovered these message boards! NRT Patch Question

I am using the patch to quit smoking. I have a question for anyone else who has used the patch. Do you ever have a problem with the patch sticking? When I quit before while using the patch (made it a whopping 3 days) I never had issues with it sticking. This was during the winter months here in Iowa, so maybe the heat and humidity are a contributing factor. I'm thinking of getting some medical tape to keep it taped in place, but not sure if that would work or not. Any advice is very much welcomed. NRT Patch Question

Hmm, I usually put it in a place that I don't put lotion on. I seem to have the most problems when sweating at work. NRT Patch Question

Upper back is where it sticks the best for me too. I've tried upper arm, which doesn't work so well and upper chest, kind of tucked under my bra, that spot doesn't work well at all. NRT Patch Question

I'm willing to try any spot that it will stick! LOL I sweat a lot when working. Since I've quit smoking the sweating has gotten worse, which I know is one of the side effects that can happen when you quit smoking. Thanks for the ideas Unhooked. Bad Afternoon

MACE and Abbey G... You are doing terrific. Just keep hanging in there! MACE, it doesn't even have to be one day at a time...it can be one crave at a time. Sometimes smaller chunks are easier to deal with. Yet another reason I love these boards

I absolutely love the support that this site offers and here's one reason why. We had a small get together at our house tonight for my son's birthday. There were a few people we invited that smoke, one of them is my mother. I was trying to talk to her about the difficult day that I had while breaking this smoking addiction. Her response absolutely floored me. She looked right at me, serious as a heart attack and said "Well, if it's that hard, just don't quit smoking." I was speechless. Not that she has always been the most supportive person in the world, but this took the cake. The best news is that even after the really rough day that I had and having complete access to cigarettes tonight (both people who smoke would have gladly "bummed" me a smoke) I DID NOT smoke. I resisted the urge and I feel awesome for doing so. I just wanted to come here and share my experience from this evening and let all of you know how much you ROCK MY SOCKS!!! :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 135 Amount Saved: $30.38 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 19 Mins: 18 Seconds: 3

Yet another reason I love these boards

Oh yes, my home was smoke free even when I smoked. I refused to subject my husband and son to the second hand smoke.
