Melissa, I'm using Chantix, as well. But when I said my drugs are doin' their thang, I meant my antibiotics. I'm just coming out of a bout with Strep Throat. Lolo, I'm in love with your stats!! --Shakes My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 52 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,040 Amount Saved: $468.00 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 12 Mins: 12 Seconds: 50

Weaning off chantix/Halfing the dosage?

I am so totally interested in this thread. Aloha, please keep us posted about the Chantix weening. I've got to go tomorrow and shell out some more money I don't have to get my third month of Chantix. It's so weird that I ever had money to buy smokes! Anyway, I'm interested to see if it works for you to stretch it out longer. And MLK: I want to hear how you weened, as well. All these "W"s are making me a little faint. ;p --Shakes My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 52 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,040 Amount Saved: $468.00 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 12 Mins: 25 Seconds: 54

It's all good, Mitch. Great to hear from you. Sorry some of your other threads of interest haven't been too upbeat. But we're always here; always kickin' ash; always available to send positive thoughts your way. So, yeah, check in once in a while. We love knowing how you're doin'. Be well! --Shakes My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 52 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,040 Amount Saved: $468.00 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 12 Mins: 27 Seconds: 10

Unhooked has Two Weeks!!!

That's cool. Did it take all $154.00 of that you've saved? My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 52 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,040 Amount Saved: $468.00 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 12 Mins: 27 Seconds: 28

Yeah they are. Thanks, Melissa! I just bought another 4-week dose of Chantix and had a panic attack about money! I know it's totally and completely worth it. And that's what credit cards are for, right? But, Jeez... The Anxiety Monster will grab onto anything he can to pull you back in to his grasp, won't he? Plus, next weekend is my trip to St. Louis to meet up with my parents. They smoke like fiends and are major triggers. Actually feeling what I just felt, and the cravings that followed: It makes me realize that I haven't felt them in a long time. It means I'm doing really well. And that I shouldn't become to lax; that I should stay armed and ready. But how cool is it to have tools to deal with this stuff when it pops up. Anyway! Great to hear from so many of you. Off to do my last performance of the play I'm currently in. --Shakes My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 52 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,040 Amount Saved: $468.00 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 13 Mins: 52 Seconds: 35

Weaning off chantix/Halfing the dosage?

Awesome, MLK! Danielle, I did speak to my pharmacist and she knew about as much as I did. She looked it up in her big pharmacists book and everything. It's such a new drug that their aren't any hard-set rules. I'm interested, though, in hearing from people who've gone off of it with success. It seems like tapering, like MLK did, would be more healthy and less of a shock to your body than just stopping altogether on day. I don't know...But, like MLK said: the important thing is to have dealt with a lot of the mental/psychological triggers while I'm on Chantix. So when I go off of it, I'll be solid in my quit. --Shakes My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 52 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,040 Amount Saved: $468.00 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 14 Mins: 40 Seconds: 43
