10 days...i know its not as good as some but..

Hi everyone i love this site, been on the newbies site all the time so thought i,d explore the rest as ive now quit for 10 days, yes the beginning was tough but man is it getting better. I went through all morning without a patch but just popped one on this afternoon before i got in the car, just in case it weakened me while im stuck in traffic getting in a strop. I cant say ive eaten any more than i usually do either, i do believe now im at this point it is 75% in the mind as the cravings really have weakened now, thank god, i feel ive got over the toughest bit. I know everyones different and handles things differently but you really can get through this Even just coming on this site daily helps alot, theres some fab people here and no one has a bad word to say and i love it WELL...ONE LESS SMOKER IN ESSEX !!!!!! ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/7/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 10 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 211 Amount Saved: 50 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 18 Mins: 44 Seconds: 14

At what point does the patch do more harm than good?

Hi ive been using the 24 hr patch and i was not getting hardly any sleep and alot of headaches, i took the patch off at 5.30 every day, which helped alot, im not just using them when i feel i need it, just for a few hours a day, when i go back to the doctor i will request lower nicotine patches but may find i might not need them My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/7/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 233 Amount Saved: 55 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 20 Mins: 43 Seconds: 38

Im online on I.M If anyone wants to chat

Hi Guys its sunday morning and i cant seem to shake this craving, i nearly gave in last night, i actually frightened myself as i was that close to buying some fags. I think alot of it is that the nice weather is coming and we used to sit out in the garden at night wen the kids are in bed and have a drink and a fag and i suppose im thinking, " well what are we gonna do now" does anyone else feel like that. Ive eaten alot lately too which is getting me down, ive been feeling really positive up till the last few days, i hope it goes away. Well congrats to all those who have done really well anyway, sorry for the moan, Donna xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/7/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 25 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 504 Amount Saved: 125 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 20 Mins: 51 Seconds: 23

New guy

Hi 1939Bear, You have done a fab step towards quitting by coming on here, when i quit a few weeks ago i joined this group and it has really helped me, knowing we are all in the same boat and the support you get is fab Everyone is different but i think we all have roughly the same stuggles of giving up smoking, i think alot of it at my stage is in the mind now, the craving really have subsided but sometimes when ive had a meal or get in my car, a fag pops in to my head. Not that i want it but its what ive done for 16 yrs. I have stopped thinking about smoking alot less now too which is great. A few tips ive got is I have a big pack of mints in the car Ive bought some fat books to read if its slow at work The mornings where the worst for me, so i deliberatley get up late so i dont have time to stop and think about having a cig You too will find little things that will help you, take care Donna x My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/7/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 15 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 311 Amount Saved: 75 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 3 Mins: 38 Seconds: 34

Day 19,I failed

Hiya, ive had that feeling over the last week, ive been that tempted to go and buy some fags, what stopped me? having to go through those headaches again and the sleepless nights, having my lungs clam up after the 2nd puff, not tasting my food again Try and think about why you quit in the first place, i know how easy it is to get back into the old habit but ive now learnt, from other people that ciggies do not relieve the stress, for me its the nicotine but i whack a patch on. You can do it again, i know its hard, have you got anything to replace it, like a patch or pills? Trouble sleeping

Hiya, i know exactly what ur going through, at the beginning i had bad headaches and couldnt sleep, it was horrible, i can now honestly say i sleep like a baby, the doc put me on 24 hr patches and i now take them off a few hours before i go to bed I found that if i woke up in the night and couldnt sleep i just went downstairs and watched tv, i didnt sleep during the next day just stayed awake till bed again because i was tired then, you will fall back into your old routine Well done for getting to the point you are at xx My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/7/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 27 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 552 Amount Saved: 135 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 1 Mins: 4 Seconds: 23
