The difference between winners and losers...

I have this saying written in my dayplanner so I can see it every day. The difference between winners and losers is this: Winners are willing to do the work to get the results they want, losers aren't. The first time I saw it, it made me wonder if I was willing to the do the work to get the results I want. You can apply it to almost every avenue of your life. (ie. I have a great garden because I am always out there puttering) I am a non smoker because I am working at getting through the cravings and being ready for stressful situations. If we do the work we are the winner! To those who quit in March 07

Sorry to hear of your bad night Rachel.Thats unusual to get vertigo from the patch, perhaps you could cut it in half and try it that way. (I know you're not supposed to do that but I have done it to drop down to lower dose more slowly) I am on day 8 today. Find my worst craving is first thing when I get up. (I do wear the patch overnight unlike most, as I used to get up & smoke during the night -yeah that was insanity). My rule for this quit is, as I have seen on this site N.O.P.E. (Not one puff ever) Good luck Rachel, hope you're feeling better today! Keep trying. I like March Mellows too. Any other March quitters think it's a good name, let us know! To those who quit in March 07

Hi Rachel07, I am also on the patch. I put it on immediatley before my last cig and haven't looked back since to me. I am on day 6 and feeling better each and every day! I have quit many times before, but each time brings me new knowledge and new surprises. Finding this site was the best thing that ever could have happened to me. I printed the book too so I could read it whenever as a reminder why I am doing this. There will be tough days. Just do your best and try to plan ahead for those events that stress you out! Yesterday when I went to my favorite store for gum, the clerk asked me how many packs of cigs I wanted. For the first time I said, :None, I've quit. (Used to say I was trying to quit) Have I officially made it? I hope so. Welcome to all other March quitters, Let's hang together and try to get through this as best we can! Who Are We

Hi,I am 53,I come from a very large family, have quit smoking at least 703 times (so says my husband who quit once.) I am a full time office manager. I have been married to the same guy (go figure) for 32 years. I have three grown children, 2 daughters and a son, and one wonderful little three year old grandson who is my delight. Since the kids are gone, (2yrs now) I love the quiet, but love it more when they are home. My next great goal,(other than quitting smoking) is to retire, after working full time for tweny some years. I can't wait, I love to garden, knit, sew, draw, write, sing, or just to relax. Hope to do that in two years. I live in Saskatchewan, Canada (where the cigs are enough to bankrupt a person- reason #3) I ran across this website, while searching for helpful tips on quitting and knew this place would be an awesome help and so it has been. I look forward to getting to know & talk to everyone! To those who quit in March 07

Hey March-Mellows, Glad to see we are growing in numbers, strength and support for each other! I think it is really awesome to be able to share the pain and the struggles and the excitement too,of this road we are on. had a good day, a busy one,so at times had actually forgotten about smoking for a bit. Don't have alot of time on the computer alone so have to post when I get the time. I am finding it fairly easy this time, but am still kind of waiting for the "other shoe to drop". I know once I have a drop down to a smaller patch I'll have a couple of growly days, but I'll make it thru. I like the March-Mellows name, I like the fact that we all have a new beginning as non smokers with the spring. An each day that the sun is out and it warms up, it reminds me its a new beginning. So lets continue to get to know each other and help each other out whenever we need too. Not one puff ever! Keep quit!
