Great job Shako on 7 big, huge days!!
Like some of the others let me know, you have made it through "Hell Week," and boy were they right.
Things will get better every day. Some days might be harder than others but just keep with it, stay strong and you will succeed.
So proud, so proud ;)

I am almost on my 12th day of being smoke free. the first week seemed easy compared to now.
In the last day or two, all that has been on my brain is butts. My cravings are all the time and I can't get the thought out of my head! I am pretty sure
I won't give in to this overwhelming pressure, but why now???!!! :8o:

the important thing is that you came back and you are taking the bull by the horns and trying once more.
Don't give up, I believe in you!!

Shevie, one more thing- I didn't tell you how much I appreciate the time it must have taken to find those pics and posting them.
I really do appreciate your support!!!
Shevie,
Thank you so much for the visuals...I showed them to my husband, and I think it may have had some impact. I told him to come closer to the pc, but he said he could see them from the kitchen, and he sees how bad chewing-"chickin'" is.
I think he is a little mad a me now, though for putting him on the spot.
Oh well, he can deal
Thank you again, anything is a help!

Shawnx,
I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. This is definitly a difficult time to be in the midst of the quit as well. But just remember that smoking won't make you feel better. Instead of smoking, pay tribute to your friend in some way-write a song, pick up your guitar and play, smile about old memories, anything...
i pray for you and your friend's family.
God Bless,
Linds

Good for you for taking the plunge to quit!
Your daughter (as well as your son) is a great motivator to keep you strong.
This site has helped me through the tough times, a lot of the time just reading others posts makes all the difference.
Good luck and congrat!

Katy
you said some things that I hadn't really thought about. You're right, this is MY quit, and I shouldn't become a hypocrite of all things. When I was smoking, I resented non-smoker nags...
I am focusing on me right now and that is what I am going to have to conntiue.
thank you for the insight, I appreciate it.

How true it is that we all need to "redefine" ourselves after the quit! I am approching three full weeks, and it seems I have had a similar process as you, Gumphfy. This week has seemed so easy (although I have been on vacation and out of my normal routine). I am a little nervous about going back to work because I will be thrust into my "old" life with my "old" identity lurking in the shadows. what is getting me through, however, is my new plans for the future that I couldn't even contemplate when I was smoking, such as training for my town's 5-K, and preparing to get pregnant.
I have so much to gain from my "new" identity, that I am excited as the days go by-plus every day iet to reward myself for not smoking :)
Congrats on your succesful challenge at your family party!!
Let us know how the 4th, 5th, and 6th weeks go as I am not that far behind you!
