We're doin' it right! I've only been quit for 4 days, but i feel absolutely amazing. my cravings have dropped down to nearly zero. the only thing i'm experiencing is a raspy voice from less mucous coating. hey, i'm healthier, though, so i'll take a raspy voice any day!

Calling all February '06 Quitters!!!!

welcome matt and congrats on your first day! the first day is always rough, so remember to keep yourself stress-free and take some time for you today. it's not an easy or fun experience to go through, but just think: if you start smoking again now, you've got to quit all over again! that's what kept me smoke-free over the weekend when i was dying for a cigarette. you can do it and welcome! --siobhan My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/10/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 67 Amount Saved: $17.2 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 6 Mins: 57 Seconds: 28

Everyone Loves a Quitter!!!!!!!

you all really do rock! your joy, funk, is an exact mirror of my heart and soul right now. smoking was such a chain, holding me down. without it, it's pure freedom. freedom to do whatever i want because i can breathe now and walk and jump and dance! not buying another pack of cigarettes was the best decision i've made in a while. and i'm so proud of all of you out there who made that same decision to put them down and walk away, from the young ones like me to the oldies. rock on, rock out, love the newfound freedom! --sio marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/10/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 94 Amount Saved: $25.8 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 9 Mins: 51 Seconds: 40

I want to know everyones story...if you want to share :-)...

hey guys! i'm 23 years old and live in st. louis, mo. i graduated from college this past may with a b.s. in biology and work as a lab tech. currently, i'm studying for the mcat and hope to enter into med school in the fall of '07. i'm also planning my wedding now. my fiance and i are getting married next may and i'm very excited! so, for all these major events in my life, i've decided to quit. i didn't want to walk down the aisle reeking of smoke on my wedding day. and i didn't think it was very intelligent for a (hopefully) future doctor to be puffing away. i feel so much better for quitting. it makes me feel prettier, which radiates to those around me. thanks for listening, siobhan My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/10/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 96 Amount Saved: $25.8 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 10 Mins: 2 Seconds: 56

Food for thougt !!!

thanks, cincere, for the tips. the hand-to-mouth urge for me is so strong sometimes that i find myself munching on anything there is. and it frustrates me because i'm trying to lose weight for my wedding next year. i'm doing all these great things for myself (exercising, not smoking) and then i go and eat a pint of ice cream because of a craving. those are some excellent tips for eating out and tips to modify at home as well. thanks again! siomarie My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/10/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 111 Amount Saved: $30.1 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 11 Mins: 32 Seconds: 33

Calling all February '06 Quitters!!!!

i am so proud of you, tom, for getting through the tough situation and coming back to quit again. kimi is right. we all have to wait for our own right time. i quit a couple of weeks ago and began smoking again due to an uncontrollable craving. that was clearly not my right time to quit. but then i found my right time seven days ago and i've done wonderfully since then. and each person is different in their quit. i haven't had many cravings this go around; i consider myself lucky. each person just has to determine what kind of quit theirs is and plow through it with all the guts and moxy they have. look that nicodemon in the face and tell him he will not get you this time. you can do it and we're all happy you're back here on the website. stay close and let us help you through. --siomarie My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/10/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 109 Amount Saved: $30.1 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 11 Mins: 24 Seconds: 23
