redrosie,
It's strange that you post this when you did. I read something you'd posted to someone else and thought to myself what a great response it was. Not to mention that little bit of humor and all those cute icons you put in there LOL. You're very valuable here...don't think for a minute that you're not. There are so many different levels of quits here, no one experiences their quit quite the same...and everyone has a different perspective. That's what makes it all work.
45 days is nothing to be discouraged with! This is probably about the time you deal with some of the more mental aspects of quitting. Keep hanging in there. You really are doing a great job. :)

MD! Does this mean I get to be the first to officially welcome you to the VIP Club? Congratulations again! Can I bring you and Duffis another beer?
This is a nice thread... nice to duck into after reading a few posts that made me realize how glad I am to be this far down the road. It's the new ones that are my constant reminders of why I never want to go back to smoking. I wish they could all skip ahead and see how one year feels then the issues they face would be so much easier to get through. Sorry to ramble... I guess I get a little frustrated.
MD...I'll take you up on that dance now! :)

Arwensmom,
To answer your question, since you've reintroduced nicotine into your body, yes, you may experience the intial withdrawals again but... now that you know how you react to being smoke free... please learn from your slip and be better prepared. You also know how it feels to have slipped too... I know you don't want to repeat that. Did you speak with your doctor?
As for your meter, in my book, it's just a self motivational tool so resetting is a personal decision based on what you feel in your own heart.

What a kind gesture, brent :)
Learning to live without smoking is a battle and this site is all about helping each other win that battle. I think our hearts sink a little for a soul when we see them slip. We can ask people not to smoke but more than that, they need to have the desire and will within themselves. Only then can they be successful. It takes dedication, getting your mind in the right place and finding what works for you.
As Rusty has said, do whatever it takes and as Sheila said, you're definitely worth it.

I know how that feels, gpw. Don't worry about those few pounds... I know I can't tell when someone says they've gained that small of an amount. You're probably more conscious of it than anyone else. Reading labels is a good thing though...and I've gotten good at. Only one thing you might want to worry about on this Valentine's Day....
...those rhinestones (ow) :p

butterfly, you have been such good example here for so many people. Even when you slipped you showed how you can pick yourself back up and get on with your quit. You've shared what you learned and encouraged people along the way... That's what this site is all about.
You're sure going to be missed around here...so visit when you can...at least on your milestones! Best wishes in your smoke-free life and for a great and admirable career. You know where to find us if you need us :)
