Wow, Great post! Thank you for taking the time to put into words everything a smoker-on-the-fence needs to know. (Almost don't need Allen Carr's book, now.)
Cold Turkeys do it w/out NRT!

Wow, one month away fm a year! You are an extraordinary person. Those of us plodding along behind you know how many you have helped w/ a hand up, a pat on the back and sometimes a finger-wag. We'll be virtually cheering you on til you break the ribbon.

I was a quitter who became a slipper. Eventually the truth settled in very quietly but, oh so securely. Like cement. I no longer smoke. That's it. Thoughts & memories be damned. Each of us comes around at our own pace.
Cold Turkeys think they're special! (but they're not.)
(P.S. I'm a Cold Turkey, so don't take offense...)

Oh, I understand. I am one who, normally, can only ck in during the work-day, 6:00 am to 2;30 pm, Mon. thru Fri. It is by the grace of J.D. that I am even awake @ this hour to post. I just fondly recall the heady days of our early quits and what a soap-opera we were.

Thanks for responding, Joe. Funny, it hasn't really been that long but I remember early in my quit [s] hoping you would be around to respond w/sage advice & sometimes a good finger-wagging when necessary.
Now, I feel like you're an old friend. And I respond to the newbies when I feel like I've been where they are. But more often, w/the NRT questions & what-not, I don't even know how to to respond.
I guess I shoud just encourage & not try so hard to advise, huh?
