Fear of Arobics re: Mitral Valve Prolapse MVP

I know, as I have to take antibiotics also. So the bacteria go to the weak spots...like my pericardium. My question is have you seen a dr about the exercise question? I really think each one of us is different, and nothing is acceptable in this instance xcept a physician's advice who knowx the patient. I won't scrimp on healthcare advice, as it izs life or death when it comes to the heart. Maybe I am paranoid, so let's ask Anne-Marie??!! Red

Setback in Smoking Quits

I think I want to ask if quitting might trigger something underlying..like panic disorder. If someone doessn't know they have a mild anxiety disorder, and they quit smoking, get a divorce, or go thru a similarly difficult situation, would panic disorder show its ugly head at this time? How can one go thru half their life and not notice an anxiety disorder? Are most people in denial? Is the mental health of most people on this planet unknown? Is it only a handful of people being treated for mental disorders? Does it always take something traumatic to cause this or is it brought to the surface, was the PA there all the time, just waiting for something to bring it out? I sure have a lot of questions.LOL Anne-Marie, do you have stats on this stuff? I have this urge to find out so much, huh? Red

Not Fair ?

Not Fair...that is how I feerl about my disability...this is not fair. Maria, you are physically able to go out and do things, ie: exercise, travel,, etc..which I am not able to do. I want to do all the things your mind won't let you do. Lets put your mind with my body and let it be i1 person. Take my mind and put it with your body and let it be another person. Then I will split the year with you and we each could have six weeks of "life" to do with what we please. This would be a nice compromise eh? Red

Fear Of The Real World - New Job!

Mr Bubble, This is the technique I used in learning to walk again. I always try to visualize forward..not backwards. I don't know where that came from..not from me, I know that. What else do you do to help yourself? Any other techniques that would help us or others? Red

Setback in Smoking Quits

Melanie, Thank you so much for the answer, thru your research. I know it must have been difficult for you to find some results on this subject. It would make sense, as stimulants would heighten our metabolism, if even for the time a cigarette was being inhaled. I was once on a TCA that changed my metabolism, and subsequently I gained came off in 6 months. Quitting is such a great thing and I feel better every day. So, quitting can be as diagnostic tool as well? Thank you, Red

hi! introdxuction

Welcome, Charlie, it is nice to meet you.I am sorry you are having problems from your drinking. I guess you have read most of the posts so you know my story. just in case you haven't read, I have suffered with panic disorder all my life.As far back as I can remember. That is the heredity part. then came the full blown attacts thru varous times of my life, still not diagnosed by a doctor. Then some Post Traumatic attacks and problems associated with traumas. I have a driving phobis now from a car accident. I have been diagnosed and am being treated for all of the types. I have done well with the driving phobia, using behavior modification therapy. It worked very well, that desensitization program. I think I would give up drinking if I were you. If this precipitates this condition, I would absolutely QUIT . It isn't worth it. But that is between you and your doctor. Are you on meds for this condition?
