I won the battle

Hi all,

As you know I have just been on Holiday in Perth to visit my daughter, we stayed at her place, smokers live there...We had a very social time, out and about around lots of smokers.....it felt like every corner I turned there were smokers.  I am so proud of myself, no smoking, no nicotine patches, enjoyed wines, meals out, and just generally socialising even with the smokers and had not desire to smoke at all.  A true test and I surely won and am confident that this battle will continue to be my victory.

New Member & 1 Month-versary!

Welcome Aally and George,

Always great to see new members.
Just remember it is one day at a time.  It does get easier.
I was out and about yesterday and met a couple of old friends I hadnt seen for a long time, both standing in the street smoking.  Not sure If they thought my comment was rude but this is what came out of my mouth "yuk, you both have to give that dirty habit up" proudly followed by "I am 100 smoke free days today" both speachless for a minute, I must have found new found confidence along the way as this is usually not my style, but I quite like the feeling of strength, self pride.  It must come from smelling great, skin/hair and nails looking great (enjoy spending dollars on me instead of smokes)  No ball and chain (the addiction) dragging me down.

Hoping you will experience this feeling soon and the initial withdrawl symptoms will be long forgotten.

Day 1 1/2

Hi Carlos

Well done on making the choice to continue your journey as a non smoker.
Life if full of challenges and we must learn to use other coping strategies than smoking.
On day at a time.

Monday Morning Parade 6-17-13

Hi All,

Gee it has been awhile since I visited this site, I am proud to say I have been smoke free for  352 days so a celebration for me is just around the corner. I think I can say I have beaten that demon.  I am ok around smokers, not even interested, no desire at all.  Still enjoying the freedom, fresh smell and sense of great personal achievement.  It is the anniversary of my mother death today and I am so proud to stay true to my last conversation with her.  I will never smoke again.

I will try to keep in touch, and congrats to all that are taking one day at a time.

Lynne
