Congratulations and welcome to SSC , you will not regret this decision....for a minute I though you were my husband joining this site because of the name and location....lol but no such luck my husband is at work and has no time for this at work. He is planning on quitting in June. To help you with the cravings drink lots of ice cold water take deep breaths and when it gets to bad start excercising or walking it does help ease the craves. Stay close to this site, everyone is very helpful with advice and encouragement. Your wife will be very happy with your decision. Good Luck and lots of willpower.

Way to go Rose your doing great. Don't forget to drink lots of ice cold water, I put a lemon wedge in my water sometimes to make a change. Take deep breaths and if the craves get to bad try exercising. I remember when I was on day twenty of my quit I felt so sad, like I lost my best friend or something and I was on the treadmill and strated crying because of the cravings but after a good cry I felt better and now I'm still smoke free. Good Luck Rose you can do this just say NOPE

Cool Tabbyh, I like your new avatar, did you cross the bridge or did you just go half way, I know I'm afraid of heights and it would be scrary to cross over. I am also curious to know what bridge this is or in what province. Again congratulations on one year.....

Thank you Tabbyh for the information and history of the bridge, that is quite interesting. This makes it double scary crossing the bridge after what happened in 1939. My husband and I are planning a bike trip to Newfoundland next year so maybe we can check out that bridge on the way. Or better yet maybe Kaiser can plan a train trip to New Brunswick and we can all cross the bridge together as non smokers. lol

Hey Kaiser, little update on the riding. Husband and I ride as much as we can, unfortunatly not often enough, were to buzy with work. Last year we took a fantastic ride, 17 days on the bike we crossed the border in Sault Ste Marie, rode to South Dekota and all the way to Montana, it was great!!!
