Having George and Eric showing their face was great!  I kind of got some hints on how they were going to end the whole thing up a few months ago, but YES! the writers are doing a great job ending everything.  Glad to see Neela and Ray 'back together?' at least in the same city and just wonder if Carter's wife will show up..  I keep telling myself "The show will be back"  but this time it seems really final!   I will have myself some ice cream and I am making some of my meatloaf for me and my sister since she  is in some dying need for my cooking or something besides fast-food (I'll say it's my cooking that she wants )

Well time to get off work!  I'll check in with y'all later tonight.

I'm so happy to see you here today. You are doing great... you past the halfway mark of the first three days.
That's about as long as it takes for the nicotine to exit the body. After the first three days it's more of a mind thing.
So hang tough! You are almost there do whatever it takes, just don't smoke!

You are not alone in the crying department. Me too.  During one quit, I wanted to smoke so bad that I started crying just seeing someone smoking. How pathetic is that!  Just expect for the waterworks to be in overdrive for awhile.. it takes some time for the emotions to mellow out.

What Bob said....  a nice busy evening does make it easier.
ER,I forgot!  Ok, so that should keep you mind off of things :) for awhile. The ER writers have been doing such a good job tying up loose ends. Wasn't that fun to see George Clooney back there? You will like being able to watch a whole TV show without running outside for a smoke and then running back worried I missed something.  My trick was to pause the program just enough so I could skip through commercials (those commercials were a trigger to go smoke). Or the other trick is to just get up and go the fridge.
Be nice to yourself... be sure to give yourself rewards for all the progress you have made!  Ice cream, bubble bath, fancy coffee.. you have already saved some money so spend it on yourself!

You can do this.. you are doing great!

Best,
HP

Thank you Henny Penny!  I am doing pretty good today, though I am finding some nice candy that isn't doing me much good but keep my hands busy.   When I am at work I am just fine,  I am a receptionist so I don't get away from my desk much.  It is when I am home that I have the problem.  My sister will be over tonight to watch ER with me.  :(  I'm getting edgy and it's already have a tendency to cry easy so I think I will have to get a nice big bowl of ice cream for this 3 hr series finale.  My lovely sister will keep me in line and busy.

I am VERY proud of myself I have been to the corner stores and I have caught myself started to do my normal routine and buy cigs, but stopped.  I did talk to my guys at my normal corner stores and they have agreed to not sell me any even if I beg and pled.  Though I am sure some would if I ask, it's best not testing that and just say they won't.

It's off to the gym, only to find the sauna, since i had a plumbing issue I wasn't able to go yesterday.  Then ER at 7 and somewhere get on web cam with my son.

Hi Lori,
Just checking in to see how it's going today...
How are you doing?

Don't worry about that inadvertent post  .. you will find that spacing out is part of the healing process. Yep, it's a good thing!
It means that more oxygen is getting to your brain and the nasty carbon monoxide is leaving your body and brain.  We have all been there.  We like to chuckle every now and then but everyone of us is thrilled you are here!  Really. (((hug))))
There was a funny post by Duffis that I'll bump up for you. You will like it!

I think it's wonderful that you have a good friend to help keep those smoking thoughts away.

The first week is rough and the first three days can really be a challenge.  You have a great attitude and a will to make it happen.  Keep posting! Let us know how it's going.
 Happy to have you here

Best,
HP

LOL Lori - reading the last couple of posts made my day!  Too funny.     I hope today's going well for you, and that your non-smoking friend will help keep you on the straight and narrow (as well as all your new friends here too!).  Take care.

So I had to go back and reread this thread as I missed the context regarding the pillow!  Lori, blame it on April Fool's Day!  And didn't anybody warn you about HP?  Now that she has a year under her belt today, watch out!  She'll be clucking all over the place!    P.S.  I couldn't find a chicken, so a bat has to do!  LOL!

Henny Penny--I so did not mean screw..  I really meant scream.   My mind was not where it should be I guess (and I was at work).  I feel so embarrassed

24 hours with no cigs..  so far so good, Got the urdge to smoke so I decided that fixing the plumbing for the garbage disposal and getting rid of old toys of my son's sounded like a better idea.  Got a non-smoking friend over to keep me busy playing skip-bo and watching TV and someone to keep me strong and away from cigs.

Thank you all for your advice and ignore me at times I tend to think with my fingers and not realize it.
