So my quit day was bumped to today

I don't know if it's a mistake or not but I got home from walking my dogs earlier huffing and puffing and I just decided not to smoke anymore.

Its been 6 hours,  it's rough but I am hanging in.

Wish me luck

So my quit day was bumped to today

Thank you

I just started to feel like the build up to my quit day was going to drive me mad. I cleaned everything out and tossed my smokes and that was it :)

The big time craves come in waves, but I've been able to keep busy so far.

I just keep telling myself that if I smoke it's like hitting a reset button which means I'll have to feel this way again at some point.

Day 3 is proving pretty rough

Starting to feel as if this withdrawal is going to keep wearing me down until I am too tired to fight back.

Could really just use some words of support and some assurance it will get more manageable.

It's raining today so that has taken a lot from me as far as keeping distracted.

checking in

Just wanted to let those who have been so supportive that I am still smoke free.

I almost feel as if the past two days were harder than the first two because the big time cravings come in waves and surprise me instead of just being there all the time.

I am feeling pretty good today but its really off and on. I'll be feeling good and be fine and then I'll have a massive craving and I am miserable for a couple hours.

I know the nicotine is out of my system now and in some ways that makes it more frustrating knowing its in my head.

I am also really proud of myself. I never went more than 4 hours trying to quit in the past and I've already seen and felt some improvements, such as the bags under my eyes which I thought were permanent disappearing. So I have a lot keeping me going.

Giving in isn't really an option for me at this point no matter how bad it gets.

Thanks again for all the support,
Bre

Will the Second week get any better?

Hi Karen,

I am in my second week too and I am still getting cravings. It is a lot better than it was though. For the most part they aren't severe and pass quickly. Once in awhile I still get a real bad one but they are getting fewer and farther between.

Its helps to keep busy as I am sure you know. Hang in there :)
