Day 3 is proving pretty rough

15 years ago 0 363 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I gets much better Brelaine, I'm on day 4 and am noticing a big difference from day 2 or 3. First 3 days i did nothing but eat and sleep. Everyday, we heal, our bodies are ridding themselves of the poisons we've been ingesting for all these years.  Keep your focus, and keep your will.

Hi Debby!
It's normal; everyone has had a rough Hell Week! I don't even want to remember it! I remember I was unable to focus even in the most simple activities; I was energy drained, I had an upset stomach, I was coughing a lot and even if I have a cheerful personalitiy I went completely depressed.\
But remember, you have your quit smoking toolbox . These things with help you to feel better.
I took hot showers, slept more, drank a lot of water, kept my hands busy, ate snacks, and that really helped me a lot.
I didn't aloow the cravings to make me doubt of my decision to quit smoking! I just repeated NOPE everytime a craving assaulted me.
You can imagine yourself with the flu. You feel miserable, but you know it shall pass. Remember, It really gets better!
Your body is healing. It's a     nicotine abused body trying to heal itself.
The Nicodemon wants you as its slave; you are breaking apart and it is becoming weaker! These cravings are ill attempts on its part to lure you back.
But you know better! You know there is a wonderful life after cigarrette addiction! A life free of slavery! A healthy life!
Hang on my friend! You are doing great! You deserve to be free!!!!!

Debby, you said it best!  Just think of the freedom that is on its way by beating this addiction!  Take it one day at a time, and you will be smoke free, healthy, happy and proud, just like Debby said!

I am feeling the same at the moment day 4.

But I know from the others on here that it does get better.

So I'll just have to get through this and then it will be FREEDOM and thats the main thing to be smoke free, healthy, happy and proud.

Tomorrow is another day and hopefully for us both a better day.

Keep Strong we'll get through this together.

Debby

Just like they say, this is hell week.  It will get better.  I cleaned my house every day for the first two weeks.  If it looked clean....I cleaned it again, just to keep me from thinking about that smoke.  Get online and start reading all the post, post yourself.  That way your hands are busy.  Call a friend and tell them what you are going through and ask for some moral support....they will give it to you...I know for sure we will give it to you.  You can do this...and it will get better.

Brelaine,

Ditto to all the comments of your fellow quitters...it will get easier, hang in there!  MissMarple has mentioned some indooor activities you can do to keep occupied, add some fun cooking/baking, a good book, or bath to the list.

Keep strong, we're all rooting for ya!

I promise it gets better Bre...........First 3-4 days are bad both physically and mentally.......I slept a lot.
After the nicotine was gone.....it was just my addict inside pushing me to smoke.
And now.....not near as bad.
I know how an addict feels now.......how the addiction pushes for more
BUT.....I'm in charge now not the addict........and that is a good feeling........
you can do this......One Hour, One Day, One Crave at a time.

I do love the smell of the air after it rains!  Yes, Rock is right.  Try to stay busy...clean house, watch a movie, exercise, do a crossword/word search/puzzle, anything to occupy your mind.  This is a hard day, but you CAN do it!  Hope it gets better for you.  Oh-perhaps a hot cup of tea and a nice long soak in the tub?  Sending you lots of good wishes in this envelope.
