So my quit day was bumped to today

Good Job Brelaine!  I know it's hard, but it really really does get better.  Take good care of yourself-- I slept a lot for the first 4 days, and use the workbooks included in this program.  And you're doing great with posting...... sometimes that's the only thing that gets me through a bad crave.

Lean on us-- that's why we're here.

Brelaine, here are some ideas for tonight!  Take a bubble bath or a long shower.  Treat yourself well!  Take your dogs for another nice walk.  Go to bed early!  Read, read, and read postings!  You can do it!  I'm so happy that today is the first day of the rest of your smoke free life!

Brelaine,

Talking to yourself in the way you are can definitely be helpful! Many members report the "self-talk" useful in their quit and also help them cope with those cravings. Are there any other activities tonight that you can do to distract yourself?

Members, what kind of advice can you offer to Brelaine to help her through tonight? Any other tips or strategies to suggest?

I just keep telling myself that if I smoke it's like hitting a reset button which means I'll have to feel this way again at some point.

Brelaine,

It sounds like you have really been inspired to become a non-smoker. Although it sounds like today has been hard for you, you are getting through this and posting here instead of smoking! That's incredible!

Good luck Belaine and post as often as you need to. We are here for you!

Thank you

I just started to feel like the build up to my quit day was going to drive me mad. I cleaned everything out and tossed my smokes and that was it :)

The big time craves come in waves, but I've been able to keep busy so far.

I don't know if it's a mistake or not but I got home from walking my dogs earlier huffing and puffing and I just decided not to smoke anymore.

Its been 6 hours,  it's rough but I am hanging in.

Wish me luck
