I've quit smoking many times, once for three years then I started again...I awakened my addiction with literally one puff! I smoked for 15 years after that quit, then I found the SSC.
This is my last quit and it's been over nine years now, finally a success. I learned all I could about how addictions work and know that I can never smoke again if I want to remain quit.
Accepting and loving ourselves as an addict in recovery is key.
I went through the same thing early in my quit, I took a lot of naps. Your energy will increase as your body heals and then you'll feel like a new person!
Congratulations on quitting smoking and take care,
Hello Mommy of 2! Congratulations on quitting, it's tough with little ones around. When I quit my daughter was 5, I was a stay at home mom too. It was tough on my daughter at times, my husband quit the day after I did. But we made sure to do family rewards and had as much fun as we could. I just posted an article tonight on how I quit smoking on my website, you may want to check it out. Water therapy was my best friend for awhile, hot showers complete with tears. Keep smiling, be gentle and take care of yourself, you can do this.
My main motivation at first was that I never wanted my daughter to smoke, she used to imitate me smoking when she was little and that really got to me. She will be 16 this year and has never smoked and doesn't plan to, success! It's really great that she doesn't remember me as a smoker and can't imagine it...I love it! :)
