Welcome to the SSC! My motto is,"The worst first." You are one day away from getting through "the worst" phase of quiting! The farther away you get from your last smoke the less you will want to go back. This is a new found freedom we are all working towards today!
Hang in there!

Congratulations on those 46 days! If only we can remember the hell we went through in the early days of our quits, none of us would ever restart. The sad thing about tax increases on cigs is it only hurts those who can least afford to pay them and those still addicted have to pay no matter how much they cost. We quitters are the lucky few.

You have already been given solid advice. I could identify with that clumsy (goofy) feeling when I first started this quit. I smoked for 42 years and everything I did revolved around smoking! It is quite a shock to our systems when we suddenly stop. Your mind and body will get used to dealing with the non-smoking world and your self confidence will skyrocket, I promise! I recently went power walking with my daughter (whom had not seen me for some time). She could not believe how much stamina I had and had trouble keeping up! She is a nurse and often refers to my case when disussing quiting with her patients. I know she is proud of me!
Yes quitting is tough but so worth it!
Hang in there! You can do this!

Again, your body and mind are being subjected to major changes. Everybody who cared about me walked on eggshells around me until I was quit for quite a while. If my attitude had not improved from those early days I'd be on the funny farm (or in solitary confinement) now! One more day and you're through hell week!
You can do this!

I had a moment like yours at a picnic on Memorial Day. I had two young guys smoking like there was no tomorrow at my table. I thought, "Boy one of those would sure taste good about now (my brand too)." Then I realized I had smoked twice as long as these two kids have been alive. I hope they don't make the same mistake I did! They were pounding down the beers too. When I told them how long I have been sober (coming up on 33 years) they got up shortly after and never returned to my table. I'm pretty sure my tales of quiting smoking (and drinking) had some effect on these kids (at least I hope so).
Hang in there Lisa! You know you can do this!

P.S. I notice I have added 100 days to my life! I picture myself on my death bed with St. Peter shouting down from heaven, "Hold it, George has added another 100 days! Thanks SSC!!!
