Although I set my quit date as today, I stopped last night and used my first patch just before bed.
I had the most amazing, vivid dreams all night long.
My husband noted this morning that I remembered so much more details than I usually do.
I didn't link the two things untill now, reading these messages.
I can't wait to go back to sleep now!!!
Naomi
P.S. I love this site, it is the most amazing find, and I feel so good about stopping smoking whenever I am on here.

Thankyou for your advice.
I have been taking naps after I finish work to combat some of the worst of my cravings. Today was much easier already.
Although I know I still have a struggle ahead of me, I still feel very positive.

Hi everybody,
My quit date was set for the 21st but I decided on the spur of the moment to quit the night before.
I use the NRT patch 14mg, I used to smoke roll ups (they were very thin and I almost always stubbed them out half way through) The pharmacist decided 14 mg was more than enough for me.
I filled my hand bag with mints, sugar free gum and candy and set off to work the next morning with a skip in my step.
By midday some of the wind had been blown out of my sails hahaha
I suppose a 12 year habit doesn't let you out of it's clutches overnight.
I am about to use my 4th patch tonight, and I still feel that strength and positive thinking, but I realize now that it takes time.
I must admit I am a little scared at the idea of stopping the patches, I have read some really disconcerting things about NRT and it's efficiency as well.
Well, I will stop waffling. I hope you are all well tonight.
I have been reading through many posts on here and I admire you all so much, for your strength and for your generosity and understanding towards others.

Thankyou all for your advice.
I am sleeping much more the past 4 days already.
Today was the hardest day for me so far.
I have gone from being very grumpy this morning to tearful at the end of my shift in work.
I really need to be 100% in my job.
I was having some really crazy junkie thoughts and reasoning with myself that it was okay to start smoking again:(
I haven't smoked though and the craving seems to have passed.
I am thinking to start putting my new patches on in the morning instead of before I go to bed, maybe that way I will put off the worst of the cravings till I get home from work.
Once again thankyou to everyone who welcomed me, when I felt weak I thought about you guys on here!
(Hey Mr Ed, I am not entirely sure what I have to do, but in this post you have my quit name and quit meter)

Well today started off a little hard, but I didn't cave in and I feel like everytime I ignore my cravings I get a little stronger.
Tonight I feel great!
Thankyou once again to everybody, I look to all your stats and I am so impressed, maybe when I get a little further on in my quit I can offer some good advice to members who need it :) I hope so.
Goodnight all, stay strong.

Hi Fighter,
I am new to my quit as well and I can promise you the dreamy feeling is normal, I am not a doctor but I think it has something to do with a change in your blood pressure, smoking heightens it and quitting lowers it to a normal level (we are just not used to it anymore)
I was given some great advice that helped and still does, and that is to sleep, rest, nap as much as possible, your body and mind need it.
Keep in touch :)
P.S. Your mileage has already started, you have already added over an hour to your life gained stat!
