DAVE has 20 days!

Thank you very much! Woohoo! 20 days! Mr Ed, you shouldn't eat that many apples that quick. I should have known better than to send you them. You need some hay to balance it. My email is down so I have had to fax them to you. DAVE has 20 days!

Thank you all for your messages of support. Still going so day 22 now. It's still tough though. I'm getting a load of lilies as a reward. A bit girly I know but they smell great, and so much more so without the smoking. Jan 20th - Sunday's Superb Quitters!

Well done Deck! I think I'm a week ahead of you so I can act like the expert for you :0 Week three was pretty lousy but not as bad as week two. And based on my experience, watch out for feeling complacent. I had a tricky Friday night on about day 19 which I think was because I was starting to think it shouldn't be difficult any more. I think there is a fair bit of difficult still to come, after in my case a thirty year habit, but I do think it is generally getting a little easier. Hang on in there! Calling Plansdowne?????

Looks like Daily's not about and as I was curious too I did the obvious and Googled it. It seems to be a Haiku which translates as "Myriads of things past Are brought to my mind - These cherry blossoms!" Almost at the end of 4th week.

Tomaz, I'm just a couple of days behind you and what you said rings true with me. I'm in the middle of a big craving myself today. Horrible, I hate it, and it is discouraging. I got one much the same last week, and I did start to wonder - just a little - whether it was worth it. But I hung on, and since then I've had six fairly easy days. So, now I am having another bad day. This time I feel a bit less tempted to give in, because I can see I am going to get this unpleasant feeling from time to time, but then I'll get a break from it; and all the advice (and common sense) says that the cravings will gradually become less strong, and less frequent. So I'm reminding myself of the benefits of quitting, and thinking that while I don't like the craving feeling I've got, it is not as bad as all the negatives that go with starting smoking again. And I know that if I did have one, I'd be back craving another one twenty minutes later. What a drudge! It must be much better to put up with this feeling when it comes, go through the fight, even if it's tough and lasts a while, and come out eventually not craving at all. We can do this! REALITY!

OK, well I'm still here, still hangin' in there! Still finding it bloody tough too! But not had one puff. So never mind the delay Lainey, and thanks for the encouragement. I think, maybe, I am just starting to detect a hint of it getting easier....
