3 days and counting...

11 years ago 0 44 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
From 3 days and counting to 14 days and counting. Through the hell week and heck week yahooo!

I have to admit this is exhilarating to be able to get here. The continuous support, feedback and encouragement keeps me focused on keeping the quit going.

Now on to week #3. No complacency this is when I should really watch for the slip it happened to me twice this year week 3 I go for just one....

This time I an gonna hold on tight and not let go off the quit.

I'm finding exercise to be very helpful, too. Even though it takes some effort to get psyched up and then do it, I find the endorphin rush and deep breathing is a good substitute for some of that old cigarette high.

Yes indeed, ice water is magic for losing the crave blues...You did one weekend and you should be proud of that, its the beginning that hurts the most...In time the things you do now on a conscious level,  to get through the urges will become unconscious behavior in no time at all...As you work forward you will become increasingly aware of those situations that are the most dangerous for you.  But you will also grow more aware of how to handle them.  You do get stronger...I know that may be hard to believe now, but in time you will see that it is true.  No doubt a little ways down the road you will be telling someone else the same thing and remembering how hard it was for you...Your struggles now will help you have compassion for others in your smoke free future...That is a very good thing...

Hi freethree,

Yes, keep N.O.P.E (not one puff ever) in mind this weekend.  Biking and drinking lots of water are great ways to fight off any cravings.  Keep it up!

Weekend 2 in sight. Weekend one was difficult. I am getting into the rhythm. Lots of Ice Cold water; biking in store to sweat all the stress and energy off. Having one weekend under the belt makes me strong but I have to remain vigilant.

Thanks willisv56 for the support.

Surprisingly today has been I would say worse than yesterday. The cravings are frequent and strong.. Spent a lot of time on SSC and other education sites. Lots of cranberry juice; walking in 100 degree weather. I took the support forum's advice lots of cold ice water. That helped.. this will be an exhausting day.
