Hey Marie and Katie - glad to see fellow Chantix people here. I quit taking it a few weeks ago, but still carry four packet with me at all times "just in case" I need to start it again. After the pills (and this site) helped me get through the first few weeks, I really didn't need it any more. For both of you - take your pick - they all guarantee success! See you around! Day 4 of Chantix.......seems like today that when I want a cigarette, I light it, then after about 3 puffs, I want it no more. Hope that is a good sign that the chantix is starting to do its work! Yesterday made me question doing this....I have a teenager in the house who was testing the limits....and I'm thinking am I really going to try and quit NOW???? HA! Katie, best of luck to you too, I will be cheering for you! :)

Hi Marie, I'm on my 4th day of Chantix and I'm excited too. I'm trying to be patient, but I want to already be on the final dose and have these cravings diminish a little more. I do believe it's going to work this time because I feel different about quitting. I don't feel so much like I'm punishing myself. Good luck to you and let me know how your chantix journey is going. Katie

Welcome to the SSC!!!! I quit using Chantix and I can only dexcribe it as a miracle!!! As you are preparing for your special day, October 23rd, one thing that helped me was to deeply analyze each cigarette, each puff... You can do this!!! As I told Spunkyjj, be SELFISH!!! This is for you, all about you!!! Take time for yourself, listen to your inner voice. If you want to nap, nap...you want to take your 4th bath/shower of the day(that seemed to help me/not my skin),take the bath/shower...You don't feel like talking on the phone, let it go to voicemail. Make sure to set mini rewards for yourself. Please come here often...God bless,Colleen My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 88 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,200 Amount Saved: $577.50 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 1 Mins: 32 Seconds: 5

Hi Marie -- And welcome. I am also on chantix and it's working for me -- watch out for the upset stomach about 20 min after taking -- always take with food! I didn't even make it through a whole first week of smoking while on chantix, it cut down the cravings so much for me. Hope it works well for you also. Allen Carr's book has also really helped me to change my thinking -- and I think that's been the most important thing for me so far. Truly making a deicision to stop once and for all. When you're having a bad time, come here and post. The people are knowlegable and supportive. Thanks Everyone for making me feel so welcome and supported! I know its going to be a tough road and its comforting to know there is a "cheering section" there for support and advice! I have read Allen Carr's book, I think its great, and hopefully I can incorporate his thinking into my quit plan! As for the Chantix, I just took pill 3, not really noticing much of a difference yet......maybe a little odd taste in my mouth.....hopefully it kicks in soon!
