Welcome, Marie! Great choices so far...determination, chantix, excitement. Those little voices are the junkie getting scared of losing contol over you. I'm going to bump up a thread for you called "Junkie Thinking". it gives some great responses to those junkie thoughts. Also a kind of funny one called "Weirdest Junkie thoughts" Feel free to add to them :) Keep close to here, we all will help you in anyway we can. Have you read Allen Carr's book? Lots of people swear by it. Also, do the Program Workbook here..it helps a lot. I've smoked for 22 years, and have failed a couple times at quitting in the past, but looking back, I really don't think I truly *wanted* to quit. But now I KNOW I AM!!! Although the little voices in my head keep giving me ever reason I shouldn't quit!! I'm on day 2 of Chantix, my quit date is Oct. 23. I'm getting more and more apprehensive as my date approaches, but excited too to finally make the break, hopefully forever this time!
