Thanks Breakin' I've really cut down on the junk & my husband has started cooking all the low fat vegetarian meals again. I found a good site with a food and exercise diary in it (calorie king; hope I don't get in trouble ;) ). Plus I got myself a podometer. My aim is 10000 steps a day. I have been around the SSC and reading the posts. My thoughts are with you. :) cheers alison My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 24 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 721 Amount Saved: $300 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 9 Mins: 47 Seconds: 45

I gained 1.6 pounds despite my healthy diet and fanatical walking (10 miles in about 3 days). I have gained a total of 6.2 pounds since I quit smoking almost 4 weeks ago. *sigh* My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/15/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 24 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 492 Amount Saved: $84 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 21 Mins: 31 Seconds: 12

Hi everyone, Just a few tips... If you limit your weight loss to one to two pounds a week, you'll have an easier time keeping it off as your metobolism will have time to speed up. Instead of starving yourself, eat 6 small meals a day instead of three bigger ones and no snacking. Plan ahead; just like quitting, if you plan ahead what you will be eating during the week you're more likely to stick to your diet. Hope this helps, Danielle ___________________________________________ The SSC Support Team

Ok. Ready to join in on the weigh in. Was pretty afraid to step on the scale this morning, although it wasnt as bad as I had thought. I'm starting at 145 (ugh)!!!!! Would like to be between 130-135. I'm thinking that this is a pretty solid weight gain as I've lost my waist (I looked under the bed but it wasnt there). Anyways, not doing anything radical, just eating more healthy foods, drinking lots of water and walking daily. I would love to go back to Curves but with Mike's schedule and 3 little ones at home its just not in the cards right now. Can anyone recomend a good workout video? Hopefully by next Thursday I will be feeling on my way and maybe down a pound! Janet

Thanks Mama for the Weight Watcher's enchilda and pizza tips. I'll buy them today when I get my case of water and fresh fruits. I found the other thread for Waist Watchers now, so I can ask questions on there.

Thanks Mama, One thing I am definetly doing is giving up my beloved enchiladas and pizza. Today, eventhough, I craved a chicken taco or a nice large sandwich, I placed lettuce in a bowl and tuna on top- definetly, not as, instantly, satisfying, but after about 30 minutes, I still wasn't hungry and I didn't have the urge to fall asleep in the afternoon. You're right about that, but I am desperate. I was just given a gift from a friend to go on a cruise July 7. I can't not go and I can't be seen in summer clothes. Okay, I'll be satisfied with 2 to 4 pounds, but I am striving for 7. Thanks Breaking Free.
