Hot Summer Days

18 years ago 0 2614 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Thanks for the response. Yes I know the year thing and it still seems hard for me to just be. I did go to the pool after I fixed a great cold dinner. Swam, walked the dog, ate watched tv and just laid low. It was just a hard day, a surprise and I guess those surprise days are there. I got through, can't say I am happy and a huge part of that is the difficulty I have breathing. This was getting better and now it seems bad and there are others who have never smoked in their lives who are having the same breathing problems I have. So it was a hard day. I went ahead and did the things where I could not smoke and got through, I did not smoke. To bed and tomorrow will hopefully be better. Thanks for reading Phillip  My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 165 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,319 Amount Saved: $1237.5 Life Gained: Days: 27 Hrs: 1 Mins: 11 Seconds: 7

Hang in there dude! The pool and hot summer days were, and still are sometimes, a huge trigger for me. Swim, swim, swim, sip your beer.. breath.. cough ;-). Where do you live? It sound like the weather we've been having here in so cal. My dear Phillip: After 58 years of smoking it was getting harder and harder for me to breath after doing almost anything. After being quit for 18 months I really do super with the exception of 103 heat with 89% humidity. Yesterday you could cut the air with a knife and I struggled to breath so I quit everything, came home, got cooled off and jumped in my easy chair with a good book. I am not going out of the house today period!!. As you know I watch just about everything you do through your posts. I am so proud of your perseverance and dedication to your quit :) 166 days is just outstanding. I hate it for you with this heat and humidity. Find a cold place and relax. I heard yesterday that at least 60% of the northern hemisphere is in a drought. My son in Brooklyn says he can't bear to go into the subway tunnels they're so hot. My friend's husband has been called out to Oregon to fight wildfires. So. Time for a cool drink. Cotton clothes. A fan. And gratitude that we're not contributing to the stale, hot air by smoking. Yay! Rusty :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/13/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 597 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 16,739 Amount Saved: $2089.5 Life Gained: Days: 82 Hrs: 5 Mins: 41 Seconds: 54

Until you have done all the "seasons", all the "holidays", all the occasions throughout your year that brought with them key times to smoke, you will continue to discover triggers. (some where you least expect them) After that year you will be more comfortable with your new life style. Just try to relax....I like to sit in the yard with a turned on hose when it's boiling hot(and it is here also)....hard to smoke under a sprinkler LOL hang tough....and do NOT let that quit slip from your hot clammy little hand ;p Katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1670 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 66,832 Amount Saved: $9519 Life Gained: Days: 217 Hrs: 22 Mins: 19 Seconds: 0

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Phillip, Quitting smoking is a huge change in our every day lives. Our bodies tend to not accept this change as soon as we quit smoking. This may be why you are feeling the way you are today. It is great to hear that you have chosen a place where smoking is not allowed. This way you will not be faced with temptation. Please continue to post with us and share with us how you got through today. Stay strong! Melanie _____________________ The SSC Support Team
