My hubby tried to quit... or should I say he failed to quit. He came on here, got the gum and I honestly dont think he really wanted to quit for him, I think he wanted to because I quit smoking. He has fallen back into the chew. If you have any ideas on how I can help him please let me know. I already told him he isnt allowed to kiss me til he stops cause I dont want the chew in my mouth or the thought or temtation of tabbaco. It looks like it's only me and you Infinite_D. I am still off the tobacco and feeling good. I hope everyone's new year is going good. I looked at my quit meter and I have not had 800 dips of snuff! When I make it to a year, I am going to buy me a 1978 El Camino as a reward and to relive some of my youth. Hello, The biggest thing to quitting is wanting to. If he doesn't want to he won't. Here is how I did it. First I had a medical scare that turned out to be nothing. Then, I got the patch and mint snuff. I completed the whole course and then weaned myself off of the fake snuff. I also did something I wish I had not done. I went to an oral cancer website and I read the saddest story of a man in his 40's that died from smokeless tobacco. It scared me pretty good. Finally, I read all the posts on this board about quitting chew. That's how I did it. Good Luck! Well, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! My family and I sure did. This was my first Christmas in 13 years without snuff! It wasn't easy, but I do have to admit it is getting easier. Where are all the dippers? Hopefully some "New Year Resolution" quitters will sign up. I am still having painful gums. Went to the Dentist again yesterday for a cracked tooth (bad luck in that department), and he said my canker sores have healed up, but some more have popped up. He said that it was common for this to happen. I also read on the internet that some doctors actually prescribe nicotine gum to people with chronic canker sores. Can you beleive that? I am rambling. hope everyone has a great and SAFE New Year, Fed_up My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/29/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 61 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 618 Amount Saved: $122 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 3 Mins: 6 Seconds: 15

Infinite_D and fed_up, Congratulations to both of you for staying nicotine free. When we think in terms of nicotine, most of us think of smoking and how difficult it is to quit. But nicotine is nicotine, no matter how you get it, and its got to be tough for you guys too! So, good for you for hanging in there!!!! Your stats are pretty impressive, guys.
