Hello Nick,

Do prepare yourself as everyone is saying............do the program and have your fruit, sweets, water and whatever ready for the day.  The most important preparation you can do is a mental/psychological one..........

Do not go into this quit with the "I hope I don't fail this time" idea in your mind.  Have really determined, positive thoughts in your head saying,  "I will not let anything come between me and my quit!"

WHATEVER IT TAKES...............JUST DON'T SMOKE!

Lolly.

Hey Nick,
It's not a fail,   it's part of the refinement procedure.
Take everything you learned on the other quit and apply it to this quit.
All of us have learned things the hard way from previous quits but we knew what to watch out for on the next try.
Learn and live, right?

We will all be here to cheer you on.

best,
HP

Welcome and congrats for starting a quit - Drinking lots of water, walking, walking, walking helped me - also in the beginning I did lots of deep breathing.  I constantly sucked on ice and still like to have a cup of ice now especially with 100 degree days.  Lots of good advice on SSC - read, read and read.

Hi Nick F,

Everyone here is offering great advice.  Go through the program and don't shy away from re-reading some of the information later on.

You have a great group of people here to help you out and I am excited for all your future successes.  You can do it!

Have a great prep week.  Let us know how we can help.

Nick, lets make this be your final quit!  Go through "my program" so you have a plan in place.  Take what worked and what didn't work from your last quit and apply it to this quit!  Rewards are important, so have small rewards for each passed craving, a medium reward for each smoke free day, and a larger reward for each smoke free week!  Read, read, and read some more!  There is a wealth of knowledge here at the SSC, so be sure to use the search feature to look up topics.  Are you using an NRT or are you going cold turkey?  Which ever route you choose, just remember this quit is all about you!  We're all rooting for your success!
