Hi Terri, Welcome to the group. I am on Chantix too, my husband also still smokes. Evenings can be difficult, but my husband will be starting his chantix withing the next week. This has been better than other methods I have tried. It's not the nicotine you want it's the feeling. I backslide too, but discovered the cigarette gave me nothing! It seems pointless to light up now. Keep at it, it really does get better, I'll be looking for you on the site. Have a great day My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/9/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 28 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 560 Amount Saved: $112.00 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 17 Mins: 33 Seconds: 5

hello, my name is Iwona. I started smoking heavily after i split with my partner at the end of 2005. I want to quit badly because i also suffer from panic disorder and i know RATIONALLY that smoking only exacerbates my symptoms. But still, i go and buy yet another packet. Which throws me into panic. That's why I've decided to join this programme and learn that i can live without cigarrettes, just like i did when i was in a relationship. I just need a lot of encouragement but i can see from the posts that i WILL get it here. It's 2:33 am here, in Poland, where i live. I am beginning the programme. Regards, Iwona W.

Hi Terri, My story was not unlike yours. I had bronchitis and the doc scared me about emphysema. If the nebulizers they had to give me so I could breathe did not reverse the situation and improve my breathing, she was ready to diagnose emphysema. She told me it was my wake up call, what should I expect after 30 years of smoking? I got Chantix and it, along with my determination, helped me get to 6 months. You can do it Terri! Pretty soon the evenings will be a cinch :) Having a support group like this one has been a must for me and I think in the beginning, at least, you should lean on us a lot.
