Smoking for 25 years-mostly cigs but quit cigs in 2000 and got hooked on cigars. Quit again 1/8/07 after multiple attempts, many in 2006. Tried hypnosis, acupuncture, cold turkey, patch, gum and Wellbutrin. Now in second week of Chantix. Some trouble with nausea, worse with evening dose. Vivid dreams (not nightmares, actually the dreams are a bonus). The first month script $118 at Wal-Mart. The cravings are much more subdued this time--feel like I might actually have a shot at success. I usually fall off the wagon when I travel (next trip in March)--sorta think my health is on vacation, too. Anyone else on Chantix?

Me, me, me and it's made this quit easier than my other attempts. I love the dreams. I had stopped dreaming or remembering them. Welcome and good luck and I was sick for the first week on Chantix and still get upset tummy but feel pretty good overall. Izzy - I'am another Chantx quitter. Ride the queaziness because it's worth it. I've only had minimum side-effects and the ones that I've had pssed in a few days. An amazing drug. I wanted to quit even before I quit...it's that good. You still do the hard part, though. The mental and physical withdrawals are still gonna get you. It's OK, though. Stay the course. It has been well worth it. -- 2tone My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/26/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 467 Amount Saved: $88 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 17 Mins: 47 Seconds: 20

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Chantix is the way to go. I have tried with other products and this was a breeze. No side effects except for vivid dreams and they were enjoyable. LOL I smoked 2 packs a day for 30 years and only used the drug 1 month. The weight has been the hard part. I have gained 20 pounds but I think I'm starting to ease up. I started going to the gym and walking every day. Something else that may help. Everytime I wanted a cigarette I looked at a picture from the World Health Organization of the smoker's body. It's disgusting. You may want to take a look-it makes you think twice before smoking. Hi, I stope with Chantix after 52 years. No drug side effects could be as bad as smoking. Dear Izzy, I used chantix the first month. I think I owe my quit to its help. Although I had never tried to stop smoking before this, the mere thought of quitting seemed impossible. Chantix helped me keep going. I truly believe I could not have suceeded without it. Keep taking it, adjust your dosage, but hang in there. I'm a Chantix quitter as well. Stick with the program...that nausea will pass.... I was a 3 pack a day smoker and had smoked for 34 years. I believe I owe Chantix my life. Like you, I failed with other aids. Of course, the desire to quit has to be there for ANY quit to be successful. Congrats on those 3 days!
