How horrible---17 years old! I am showing this to my 16 year old son. I caught dip on him a few months ago, and I know him and his friends are doing it... I am sorry you and your family have to endure this, Duckie. My brother began dipping at a young age. At 26 he had a portion of his gum/teeth removed because of cancerous cells. He continues to dip (and drink) excessively. He is now 48 (looks 60) and has had other health probs as well---heart blockage, etc.... My thoughts and prayers are with you. I certainly hope they have caught this early enough to prevent any spread... Please keep us updated...(((hugz))) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 77 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,896 Amount Saved: $616 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 0 Mins: 20 Seconds: 55

A good friend/co-worker of mine quit dipping the same time hubby and I stopped smoking. He also used the patches/wellbutrin and has stopped for 6 mo's. now. Your hubby will be in my thoughts and prayers. Just think---since he quit dipping it will safe to turn up a soda can to drink without checking first! :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 78 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,927 Amount Saved: $624 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 1 Mins: 58 Seconds: 16

Duckie, thanks for sharing this. I'm very sorry but I'm an so glad you shared it to be a lesson that NO ONE is exempt from getting cancer from smoking/chewing. I quit because so far everyone on my dad's side has died from some sort of cancer. It scared me enough to loose someone close to me at the beginning of the year to quit. Now I am trying to help others because cancer is such a death sentence and sometimes avoidable by just quitting or not starting period. Please give my regards to your family!!
