Universal Reward Day

16 years ago 0 3541 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Awesome rewards, everyone! Anna, I'm sorry about your friend. Ginette, careful with the booze, it can be a bad trigger. I used to love sambuca, too, haven't had it in years. Pen & Anna, thanks for reminding us that rewards don't have to cost money. Giving ourselves the gift of time can be a reward, too. Time that's just ours, to reflect, to be grateful, to congratulate ourselves, & celebrate our quits. I agree with the reward thing. Love the idea. My Grand kids think I have a 'thang' going too. I have spent money, bought too many shoes, pampered myself, had expensive chocolate, manicure, pedicure and facials. All in all the best reward is how I feel. I am proud I don't smoke. Great idea Unhooked I'm going to treat myself today to a couple of drinks of Sambuka...licorice liqueur. I haven't had it for some time now and I think I'd enjoy it now especially not having the awful taste of cigarettes in my mouth. It will be especially good now. I'm going to take a nice bath tonight and veg out for the rest of the evening doing crossword puzzles. I really enjoy doing them. I'm drinking lots of water right now and it's helping with the cravings. I'm on my 4th day too Alpha...I guess you know that already, lol. We tend to be hard on ourselves, don't we? We forget to reward ourselves for the accomplishments we've made as we struggle through the next phase. I'm going to be good to myself. Take care all and reward yourselves. Cheers Unhooked! I'm celebrating 80+ days by being taken out for dinner tonight by my boss, to a fantastic Italian restaurant which makes an incredible lemoncello (sp?) and liquorice ice cream. Guess what I'm having for dessert? Plus I'm going to buy a nice new sparkly top to wear out. Yay, I love rewards! Love it Unhooked!!! A great excuse for a reward! I think I will stop off on my way home to get a few new CD's. It's been a while since I bought new music and I think I'll look something that will go with my nice long bubble bath I'm taking tonight. Thanks for thinking of this! Everyone enjoy their well deserved rewards! :) Grin My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 145 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,350 Amount Saved: $696.00 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 13 Mins: 19 Seconds: 12

What a wonderful idea! Although I must be honest, being through 3 days and working on my 4th - I am rewarding myself daily! My reward? I stop at my favorite coffee shop on my way home from work and I get a peppermint mocha :) (non-fat no whip cuz I don't want to be TOO good to myself lol!) I don't know what day it is but I'm getting in here quick since I'm usually late otherwise. I rewarded myself with a nice long lunch with a very close friend. She and I used to smoke and drink together - a lot - and we really enjoyed sitting there not having to factor in a smoking break. And she paid the bill. Result! Great minds, my friend...great minds! I just ordered a little perfumy treat for myself two days ago and it felt funny buying it so close to Christmas. Then I said, "You know - I haven't rewarded myself for not smoking in probably 900 some odd days. I'm doing it." So, I happily ordered a set of three roller sticks of Clinque "Happy" that can be used individually or mixed together to create a special blend of fragrance. And I am perfectly happy :) Anna - what a great reward and I'm sorry for your loss. Unhooked, Great idea! All of you deserve to be nicely rewarded for all of your hard work in quitting and for the support and advice you offer to other quitters. Brenna, Bilingual Support Specialist

Rewards!!! You better believe it...I don't know what it will be yet. I don't want to spend money on myself this close to Christmas. I will have to be creative. I also will be attending a funeral visitation for a woman (40) who lost her battle to cancer. I've got it...I am just going to celebrate the fact that the Lord has blessed me with another day despite the fact that I was naive and abused my body.
