Question on stats that concern me

18 years ago 0 34 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I'm new to this site. I've only have been here for 11 days and wanted to post and support as many people as I could, but I have realized that would be a pretty big task. I have seen new people post between 100 to 200 posts in a couple of days. There is no way that I can do that. New people are joining every day and to try and keep track of everyone is a very large task. So I've decided to only post when I have something to say that might relate to someones particular situation. I believe the reason some people receive more post than others is because they respond to posts they receive. When you name a person in your response they will more than likely respond. Nobody is more important than anyone else here. We are all here for one reason and that is to quit smoking. Sorry to ramble on, but I had to put in my 2 cents. Hi Cuddles, I try to respond to a few people each day, and I've figured that if a few people are doing this, the figures average out. However, I've noticed how the number of responses can differ. While I'm here can I say that when I'm sending messages of encouragement, I nearly always see your name on the thread! You're doing a great job in helping others, and doing well yourself, over half way to the Cruise Ship! Keep quit! Mr Ed :) :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 94 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,828 Amount Saved: 705 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 17 Mins: 14 Seconds: 2

Hi to Everyone and Cuddles, (Awesome 26 days!) My Two Cents ---- Keep in mind that there are a lot of people who visit and also members who don't post, they just enjoy reading and visiting. Just try to celebrate with as many folks as you can - I think everybody already does a Fabulous job. If you need some extra support and post, you will get it for sure. Have a terrific day all. Dear Cuddles I have noticed that as well. When I am here I go through the stats and try to post to each and every one. Next I go to introductions.....where I also notice that there are some posts with 20 and some with 3 or 4. I answer the low responses as introductions first. Most days thats as far as I can go....because of limited time. I do notice you talk to everyone.........I admire you MUCH. You are an awesome co-quitter and I believe everyone appriciates and values your support as much I do. Stay Strong...........and sweet. Hi Cuddles, I have noticed that as well. I remember there was a post from a well loved person here. Well, they got, uuummmm, quite a few pages worth of responses. And then there was a post from a new person, and she only got 2 responses. I too try to answer as much as I can. I do not answer ones that I dont have much expierence on. But that I need to work on. Just to stop in and say Hi, or Thinking about you, or Wish you well. That would still help out! I dont think it is intentional. Everyone here seems to care a great deal about Everyone!! Those who are well known, are usually known for a reason -- they post/reply a lot. Lets all just pay a little closer attention to those posts that do have a lot of responses. Who knows - maybe your reply is just what that person needed to hear!! Hi Cuddles, I agree with you, and I do try to respond to a lot of the posts, but if there is a post I don't anything about I don't feel I should talk about something I don't know any thing about.. You're doing great keep up the good fight. We are pulling for you. I try and respond to as many as I can but sometimes miss some either because I thought I had posted when I hadn't or a thread has gone too far down the page. On odd occasions I have to leave the pooter and forget where I am when I get back. I think everyone knows they get the support if they need it. Why is it some people only get a few responses on thier stats and others get alot of responses - I have seen some get as few as 3 or 4 and others get 40 or more. I know that all the responses I get helps me alot. I feel sad for all those who only get a few. I hope I didnt offend anyone by posting this thread. I just wanted to bring it to everyones attention and post my concerns. I know there is no way that a single person can post in all the threads on this site. Yes I see how threads can be missed, [I havent answersed all of the post and never will be able to. Sometimes I just dont know what would be the best thing to post on some threads. So I dont because I am afraid of saying the wrong thing]. Everyone on this site is Awesome, and the last thing I ever want to do is offened some one or make them mad. Thank you all for your responses. There are alot more reasons why, then I thought of. I know when I first started on this site, I really didnt know the best way to get attention when I needed it. Now that is not an issue. As you can tell I have learned, now you cant get rid of me. I really love SSC and all of its wonderful supporters.
