Went and got some healthy snacks.  Since I can't stop eating it might as well be healthy Right?
Craves have stopped and I feel like I am on level ground again.
Looking forward to the weekend.  Will be putting the Boat in the water for the first time this year.
Looking forward to Walleye fishing on Erie.  Got a place on Put-In-Bay.  Very relaxing.
I am hanging in and Staying smoke free.

Thanks to all.

broke down and took a xanax.
Feeling better now.  My doctor gave me a few to get through the rough spots.  I do beleive this is one of them.  After yesterday I just can't do that again today.

Still no smoking.   The craves have subsided and are more managable.

Thanks to all.

Best thing when you're adrenaline starts pumping like that - fight or flight - excitement - is to stop what you're doing (sitting and working?) and take a series of breaths - slowly in and slowly out to a count of 1-2-3-4 ( box breathing) and wait for your shoulders to drop (signalling that the tension is leaving your body).

Breathing and ice cold water... concentrate on sipping the cold water and feel it easing your pain...

If you are at work i usually take a walk around the building.  This usually helps.  If you are at home, grab a good book and chill out.

Working on Day 10.  It is a little better today.  I am anxious though.  And eating everything I can get my hands on.  I think day 2 or 3 was a lot easier for me.  What happened?  I walked out the door this morning and my first thought was to buy a pack of cigs.   Don't worry I didn't I stopped and got a capachino instead.  And lots of gum.   I will not cave to the crave, but I may go nuts instead.  I need something calming right now.  Any suggestions?????

Hi Beckylnn,

I know how you feel I was very much the same,   I was never a good sleeper but for the first 3 weeks of my quit   all I did was sleep and it helped a lot. So just sleep all you want   also drink lots and lots of water I have drank more water in the past 4 months than I did   for the past 40 years   I found when I would have a bad crave the couple of seconds it took to unscrew the cap on the water bottle gave me just that little edge I needed to stay strong.    Don’t worry too much about things till you have a few weeks behind you then you will be strong  enough  to tackle what comes up just don’t  stress yourself too much where the family are concerned take deep breaths count till 10 and just try to remember it really will get better,  You can do this and you will feel great.

It’s better to be a non smoker with an occasional urge to smoke

than a smoker with a constant need to quit.
