I am grateful for this post. I am starting on my 5th day with zero nicotine racing through my body and I am amazed that I don't have huge cravings. I am catious though, I know that it is going to side swipe from out of nowhere any day now and I need to be ready My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/3/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 66 Amount Saved: $18 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 9 Mins: 44 Seconds: 23

Hi everyone, Just a warning to anyione who gsets too cocky as I have. I am on day 30 now and have been doing not too badly with the aid of you out there ,my patches and a weekly visit to my counsellor. Suddenly around 4.30pm yesterday I had the most dreadful craving and it WOULD NOT go away. I got the need for a fix in mind and Old Nick would not let it go!!! In the end I went to bed at 8.00pm to get away from it all. Still a bit rocky this am ,pretty badly shaken as I thought I was there and obviously Old Nick thinks differently.Lets hope it was Nicks swansong. Anyway didnt give in so I am still on track and hope I can get some light at the end of the tunnel soon(Hope itsnot a train coming the other way!!!) Keep smiling Bless you all Phil My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/9/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 29 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 582 Amount Saved: 123.25 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 0 Mins: 7 Seconds: 56

So many typeo's, so little time ... LOL! I think that celebrations/milestones are just another 'memory/trigger' we have to learn to overcome. In the past we celebrated successes with a smoke in hand. We no longer do that. Each time we celebrate without a smoke in hand, we weaken the link to that 'memory/trigger'. Phil, Don't forget to keep up with rewards, especially when it comes to cravings and potential/actual triggers. Bring coping mechanisms with you to your birthday just in case and have fun! Danielle __________________________ The SSC Support Team
